That depends on who you are considering as defending it.
Some of us are just stating what the addon does and does NOT do.
As it get claimed to be capable of a number of things it is not capable of
in some threads, it is magically capable of auto targeting and blasting the stealthed guy out of stealth and marking his exact map location within 5cm
And stating how it works, in an attempt to show you that âBan Spyâ is the wrong answer and wont result in really Banning Spy because it will just be replaced by some other addon called stealth alert or antiganker etc
because no one wants to get anti emotional long enough to look and see that the actual thing you take issue with, is that stealthing is output to the combat log, that simple.
Stealthing is output the the combat log, available for any kind of add on
to read and perform some function, which is how damage meters, healing meters dbm, spell timers etc ALL work.
If you do not want people to be alerted of someone stealthing, which i can fully understand as it does have a logic to it, the act of becoming unseen does not usually entail some attention drawing song and dance, You need 1 thread, with no drama or nonsense, asking if Blizzard would consider removing stealthing/Prowling (to be fair to druids) from the combat log.
Whether they would or would not consider it, i can not say, but that is the only way you could prevent being monitored and called out for stealthing.
Otherwise, there are just too many ways to âSpyâ someone, from directly
looking at the combat log after filtering it, to making a simple addon, do doing it externally with an off the shelf parser or a nifty custom perl script one etc.
Other addons one could already use fairly easily
Roguedar, Stealthalert, NoGank, StealthDetect, etc.
Again, ask about a change to the actual issue
