Spriest in Wrath

How are they overall? I plan on going heavy PvP, but I was warrior/pally back in OG Wrath. Since this will be a completely new experience for me, I’d love to get some feedback

I’ll tell you this, speccing a SPriest is more frustrating now. The trees are much worse than in TBC, with lots more useless talents that you have to take to get to the useful ones. I was excited for Wrath but I’d forgotten how bad SPriest talents were.

Spriest are a support class every guild wants only 1. Expect to be on the bottom of the list when it comes to loot. Most guilds will not give you loot over a real dps class. If you enjoy being a buff b1tch for others play this class.

Silly goose :stuck_out_tongue:

Hmmm does this put us at a disadvantage then in PvP, or just sort of overall?

I don’t know that it puts us at any disadvantage. I only played shadow towards the end of Wrath, most of it I was holy. I’m not sure I even want to look at the holy tree now

Disc feels GOD tier in the 69 bracket in pvp. I am not 70 yet but holy hell if its anything like this at 70… just go Disc, screw Shadow.

What I noticed today is that your melee dps kills stuff so fast that your dots barely get a chance to kill anything… so effectively your dps damage meter is going to have you near the bottom compared to everyone else. If it’s a long fight then you have a chance at having your dots work.

I’ve been doing quite a bit of reading, and it looks like most people put Holy at the bottom tier, but this could be in the eyes of a min/maxer :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve been looking at the numbers and Disc seems highly viable for both PvE and PvP indeed!! I was looking for a new caster dps for PvP, but maybe Disc would work as well in 3’s for arena

Im sure it will be strong in all Arena bracket throughout all seasons. It just feels really freaking good to play in wotlk. This is my favorite iteration of the spec.

SPriest in Wrath is top tier in PvP. In raids you are brought but are generally lowest DPS. You’re actually basically invincible in raids it’s kind of amusing for that reason, but the rotation is pretty dull IMO

Bonus point for being one of the best classes for killing people that are flying

Im sure spriest is great, but damn, if you can pull yourself from playing Disc you’re a stronger person than I. This spec is addicting!

Well now I’m sold  jkjk… ish

Hmmm I’m going to try both and see where it goes. I’m here for a good time, and I’m not tied down to one specific spec just yet. I really appreciate you helping!

Yeah Disc is awesome. I haven’t played it, but it’s one of the best Wrath healers.

My buddy is actually going Disc on his alt so we can do Feral/Disc 2s, it’s a REALLY good comp early Wrath, and still great later on

Spriest is incredible for Arenas

SPriest is great. Viable in every bracket and very strong in BGs and WPvP. One of the better 1v1 classes as well.

Umm what.

There may be less “fun” things to choose in the talent trees, but Wrath SPriest is the first time the spec actually feels fleshed out. You have an actual defensive, more than one form of CC, more DOT potential, and you’re able to synergize with way more classes.

Spriest is good, but I wouldn’t call it “incredible” or “top tier”. Its perfectly fine with viable comps and is more than likely going to have a few gladiators in every bracket, but its not quite at the level of some other class/specs really. Its always been a solid 1v1 class and BGs/WPvP are quite fun as well.

The biggest thing for spriest is that it finally actually feels good to play most of the time. Having an actual defensive and horror/disarm feels fantastic after playing tbc spriest with warriors/rogues just sitting on you.

You peak in phase 1 then you are middle of the pack dps . it’s good in PVP tho

I mained a Priest in wrath. In PVE it’s been said already, but serious guilds generally only want one Shadow for the debuff. Debuff rules being what they are, I rarely rolled as a 2nd shadow in a raid unless they were strapped for people.

It doesn’t matter in PVP at all. Shadow melts faces, Disc is God tier.

I’m not sure if you know, but Shadow priests are one of the best casters for PvP. They have S+ tier comps in 2s and 3s. I’m maiming enhance and alting a shadow priest. Super excited for both specs.

Shatter is going to dominate and with the talks of Ilvl squish, that benefits the casters the most, as ARP is essentially being needed.

Actually really good, been toying around with it in skirms and it feels VERY strong when paired with a class that can peel or can CC properly. (Shadow priest)

The best part is watching a warrior pop blade storm only for me to disarm him TOPKEK. Was playing with my rogue partner while coaching him on his frost mage and it was really good.
