[SPOILERS: TWW] The Harronir

Im starting to think the Harronir are the mysterious guardians mentioned in the later pages of the Legends of Elun’Ahir book

Seeking to bring hope and healing, our patron titan, Eonar, carried a gift given to her by Elune–a branch of G’Hanir, the mother world tree.

The titan believed that the influence of Life would drive the darkness away.

So she reached down her hand and shaped the soil of Azeroth, planting the branch where it could be fed by river and sky.

The branch swiftly grew into a tree, its roots extending deep, deep below the surface. Eonar smiled, for everywhere the roots stretched, new life emerged.

She called the tree Elun’Ahir, in honor of her great love.

When Aman’Thul saw what Eonar had done, he chided her. “This is not Order!” he bellowed. “You have infected this world with uncontrolled chaos!”

The Highfather took hold of the world tree’s trunk and tore it from the earth.

Eonar wept bitter tears that rained down upon the resulting crater.

But as she peered down upon the sundered earth, the titan realized a truth she did not share with the Highfather.

Though he had destroyed the tree, its winding roots still held firm beneath the soil, hidden from Aman’Thul’s gaze.

As the forces of the titans waged war against the Black Empire, Eonar bid her keeper, Freya, to watch over the crater and nurture the life that blossomed there.

Below ground, the roots fed upon the tears of Eonar and grew strong.

The war was long, but in the end, the titans claimed victory. And Eonar was pleased, knowing Elune’s legacy would endure.

It is said that much later, as the world entered a new age, mysterious guardians arrived who dedicated their lives to protecting the roots.

The reason I bring this up, is the area where the Harronir live and the area around it have massive roots growing out of the walls, and not just that, if you look at the minimap data, these is a giant blank spot, almost perfectly positioned for a new zone, and it seems to be where the roots are originating from

Would make sense that the guardians hanging around the roots of an Elune and titan blessed world tree would end up looking vaguely night elven

Of course this is all just speculation and I could totally be mega wrong but still a neat thought to entertain

To me this just cements the theory that blizzard will do absolutely everything but make naga and ogres playable.

Fun part about that bit is it is so vague. A new age could be anything from the dawn of night elves, to the sundering or somewhere between or before either.

This is great speculation. I hope you are right.

If you are a Troll Fan than why not show us your Troll OC than.

Yes give everything to everyone and destroy the lore and uniqueness

Half-elves have always been a thing

Harronir are nice. I hope they will become a neutral race later in TWW.

and you already can play them by usinjg shorter ears. Human ones aren’t needed for this.

No you kinda need humans for half-elves, its where the half part comes from

Same here as well. Harronir would be great to have as a neutral race.

Calling it now, they’re some sort of Fae.

Elf ears, at least in the older lore. Grew in length as they aged.

So cannonically shorter Elf Ears on a Blood Elf just means they’re younger.

Granted I myself use shorter and medium ears for a more Half Elf vibe.

But I’m just saying.

They’ve already been reworked.

And they look better then Night Elves, lmao.

I could be mistaken. But Zandalari Trolls were the progenitor troll for the other tribes. Including the Dark Trolls.

Which is what a lot of ppl think the Harronir evolved from. Since Dark Trolls lived in caves underneath World Trees and areas connected to the Dream.

What’s interesting is that it’s also the same skeleton as the Zandalari Trolls and I believe Darkspear are just Night Elf skeletons that have been hunched over.

But so far their animations are Night Elf based.

They’re definitely the most Fae like race we’ve seen so far beyond the Fae in Ardenweald.

And they also are implied to be more Troll like then Elf like so far. Which is interesting.

But honestly I kinda like it. Instead of being all magicy like Elves. They’re more Tribally intune with Nature magic.

But I mean, we know they’re druids even if they don’t become playable. But I feel like it’s pretty clear they will be unless the playerbase screams so much that Blizz changes thier minds.

The additional customizations that were added in 9.1.5 don’t even come close to constituting a rework.

Both the male Nightborne and Night Elf have unbalanced body proportions, whereas the male Harronir we’ve been shown have proportionate bodies.

You’re correct. For context, the comment I made about “primordial trolls” comes from the lead up to Dragonflight release where the developers were giving interviews:

It’s that familiarity and wonder at the same time. It’s hard to capture, but it’s something we’re focusing on. Across the zones, you’ll meet Centaur clans, primordial Trolls , or even revisit the Tuskarr. It’s a nice balance between the “new” and “familiar”.

TWW is going to be the worst expansion ever.

Originally the male nightelf was almost identical to the male nightborne.

Over various updates, they made the NB more proportional, and continued to slim it down in comparison.

So the model it’self did receive a re-work, a lot of people, myself included just don’t think it looks good post re-work, lol.

When are you suggesting this occurred?

This is an image of the male Nightborne on 7.3.5 PTR, with the exact same proportions they have on live:

You know what would be funny?

What if the Harronir are not the missing link between Trolls and Elves, but their common ancestor? I remember someone commenting the Harronir refers to us, players, as mortals. As if they aren’t.

Let me cook for a second here. We humans (I’m a worgen but you know cursed human and whatnot), gnomes and dwarves are all mutated descendants of titan robots, right? Order cosmic force → makes robot bois → robot bois mutate and get al squishy

The Legend of Elun’Ahir tells us that Eonar planted a World Tree during the War of The Black Empire and Aman’thul pulled it off and chastised her. The roots survived and attracted mysterious caretakers that we as a community deduce are the Harronir.

What if the Harronir are Life cosmic force robots that Elune sent to Azeroth to care for the roots and eventually some of them left for the surface and mutated into trolls, wich later some of them mutated into Night Elves.

Midnight is said to be the expansion that unites the elven tribes and the community is theroizing it will be because of the Arathi being the latest elven flavor in Azeroth, but what if what unites them is actually finding out they all come from the Harronir?

While not a bad theory, feels like the force that all about nature having robots would be real weird
