[SPOILERS] Thoughts on Nathanos in Shadowlands

There is nothing wrong with players attacking each other for the story but, there is a difference between Attacking and ATTACKING each other

On one side you have things like SWTOR where each side can dislike each other or call each other names etc. and it’s all in good jest because at the end of the day people know what they signed up for, and aren’t really beat up at the fact that a major character on their side may die because it adds to the overall story or enhances things etc.

Players know there are clearly good and bad eggs on each side, not to mention swtor doesn’t go building up a character for years just to make them do something majorly stupid to the point many feel it’s just out of character, and even if they do, normally there are mountains of possible replacements at hand that are frequently built upon, at some point or another you’ll have heard about the dark council and it’s members for example along with their apprentices.

Should the dark council member die due to “unforeseeable” circumstances we know who will immediately take over (Darth Nox and Emperor’s Wrath FTW)

Now looking at WoW we have a dev team that more or less have admitted to liking when players are at each others throat and personally, I think it’s pretty unhealthy because unlike swtor we’re rabid dogs over here after years of abuse just looking to be treated, loved, and held.

When WoW players attack each others, they mean it and some go as far as too assume just about every person who plays insert race or faction here is insert derogatory term here, When we lose a major character, hub, or area it hurts and makes people more paranoid because we know how blizzard is, they’ll rarely “update” something unless they feel they absolutely have to and more often than not they don’t wanna.

How long have Alliance players been asking about Gilneas only for blizzard to “update” it by placing either blight around the city and a few npcs, while suddenly saying it’s occupied by black dragons and cultist?

How long have Horde players moaned about losing major characters and wanting more characters within their roster only for blizzard to throw them away for some cheap value, too the point of having the scrape the bottom of the barely to pull out names that leave players saying “Who??”

Each side has legitimate grievances when it comes to the story and their faction, and with the way things are going it’s just a cycle of two abused kids yelling at each other over who has it worse or who should actually get something good for once, all the while ignoring that it was the parent (blizzard) who turned them against each other in the first place.

Honestly I could go on for awhile but this post already feels longer than it should be.

I’m not saying people need to flame or harass the dev’s, but us going back and forth at each other throats solves nothing and gets us nowhere when again we should be focusing our attention towards blizzard and asking for better on each side without having to lowkey take a dig at the other side while doing it.

TLDR- The rivalry between the Alliance and Horde have gone past the point of being civil in just about any capacity. In other mmo’s the rivalry is healthy and causes debate and excitement, in WoW it usually leads to anger, resentment and people just becoming rabid in their bias with little to no room for change.

blizzard if they really wanted to fix it, should have the factions leave each other for about an xpac and just focus on their own stories and rebuilding, we don’t need a world ending threat every year.
