[Spoilers] The Burning of Teldrassil is being ignored and hidden from new players

I approve this.

I agree. Give the Humans, Dwarves, Gnomes and Worgen more development than Nelves. Maybe Draenei at some point since the Legion was kind of their big-bad.

To be fair the Horde version of the account has Lor’themar breaking out Aethas, which is 100% non-sensical, given Lor’themar’s “I told you so” matter of fact statement to Aethas that his young inexperience was gonna make him a terrible emissary representative, breaking out a person he correctly deemed and predicted to be such a failure seems…out of character… for Lor’themar.

Frankly, I doubt that they care how we react to what they write.

Why would they care when Nelves have a perpetual victim complex?

I hope Night Elf players stay mad, and blizzard goes through with Tyrande and Genn defying Anduin and starting another war.

I genuinely, sincerely think that would be incredible, and I’m ready to throw down.

In fact, they don’t care about anything related to the alliance, so we got purple blood elves coming from nowhere, a race of people with eating problems and a bunch of gnomes stuck with toasters, with a regrettable story that most reminds ally of the discouragement and a sense of failure, as the best we can hope for in this life.

So true hahahah

They’re not purple blood elves, they’re purple High Elves.
The Void Elves never lived through the destruction of the Sunwell by the Scourge, and thus are not Blood Elves.

Imagine if they did this with the Arthas storyline, hooboy.

To quickly interject here… this seems to be a VERY odd thing to change and largely make “disappear” from the game’s overall plot. I can come up with a few, if somewhat tangential, reasons for this being the case:

  • Blizz is looking at their intent to throw new players into Exile’s Reach into BfA (and they’ll have no option about it)… and they realized just how jarring the overall experience is without the already removed “War of Thorns” storyline where the actual Burning of Teldrassil took place in. Going straight into the Battle for Lordaeron makes little to no sense without that preceding questline… heck, the whole “War Campaign” for BfA doesn’t really doesn’t make sense without that preceding questline. Probably BfA’s only saving grace is that the zone storylines (for leveling purposes at least) are largely isolated from the disorienting nature of the campaign.
  • They realized the Horde went straight into “bad guy” territory and that would make for an extremely alienating experience for new players. Quite simply, most people don’t want to be associated with war crimes in any way.
  • Blizz has realized they’ve written themselves into a corner (probably because of the total lack of continuity between expansions, or rather their constant assumption that everyone has done absolutely EVERYTHING in the game), and the only way out (narratively) is to go for a cartoonish “back to the same as before” reset at the end of every episode.

Truth be told, none of them are good reasons.

I don’t necessarily think removing it was unnecessary, there’s probably a valid reason behind it… but I will say that it SHOULDN’T be necessary. If they have to take that step, something has gone very wrong.

What did you expect? Blue eyed blood elves?

Seems like they have no issues eating, they could break your ribs with a flick of their gorilla-wrists

They remind me of one of the few things I do like in 40k.

We won the war and killed the Calamari king. What else do you want?

That wasn’t anything to do with the Horde forsaken. Just a group that split off to do their own things without any of the Horde knowing.

But yeah.
Uh.
Forsaken are not protectors of the living.
SOME might be wanting to protect the living. That makes perfect sense. SOME will want to protect those that are still alive, especially their loved ones and friends, even if said loved ones and friends have turned their back on them now that they are Forsaken.
But MANY Forsaken are pissed off about having their friends, families, etc turn their back on them and hunt them down like dogs. That’s why you see them doing what they do. That’s why they don’t care if they do ‘tests’ on the living. They’re bitter and upset, which is very understandable, all things considered.

Even with some of them that MIGHT still really want to protect, their thing isn’t to be protectors. It never was.
It was for this group of people, cursed with undeath, abandoned by everyone they knew and loved in this big, lonely world… Just trying to find some sense of normalcy again… And for many, a bit of revenge for being denied their rights to be with those they cared about.

So they were not expelled from Silvermoon because their research on Void was rated as a threat to Sunwell who now has the Holy element, opposite to Void, and forbidden by Rommath?

You can perfume a pig and still they will remain a pig.
You can paint a blood elve purple and it will remain a blood elf who never sought his brothers from Dalaran or any other location, because they wanted to search for a source of unholy power to protect their Silvermoon brothers from threats that might arise, including against the alliance.

Before or after having a heart attack when you get up from the couch?

Indeed the horde seems very defeated at the end of BfA

Who???

People complain no matter what happens it seems. The Night Elves hated it when Teldrassil was burned and it was a real big slap in the face to them. OK. So it didn’t happen then and you weren’t so mercilessly slapped in the face as a race… but you complain about that too. I’m starting to believe Night Elves, or alliance as a whole, like to be mistreated. And hey, I’m not gonna judge if that’s your kink or whatever.

People with gorilla gains don’t have heart-attacks from the couch. If they’d put down the beer they’d be mini-vrykul.

I mean. They have no fleet, lost faction leaders and had a civil-war resulting in a ton of arrests and presumable lynchings.

The big tentacle guy we fought.

or a kingsize gnome

Neither do we!

That they organized themselves to take power again! and again we had to be a jack on a horde issue.

Everyone receives forgiveness for being deceived by the Lich Queen.
even when one of them is identified, a reliever soon comes and tells us not to mistreat the guy who was loyal to Syl.

Again, I ask: Who???

So Blizzard is going to return Teldrassil to what it was before it was the dreadful BfA?
