Why you’d guys complain about them being alliance lovers and not true horde
It makes sense that someone would. Alliance fans threw huge fits when Dalaran was made neutral back in wrath.
I’m not one of them though. I’d be getting too much happiness and joy out of watching Alliance having to do quests at the behest of Horde leaning NPCs.
I’m pretty sure the current story team is just choosing to pretend Legion never happened.
This is what I’m worried about. Lich King got huge character development in Legion and now it just seems to be thrown ton the wayside for Alliance Bolvar to return. What we he preparing for? Well it doesn’t matter now that it’s retconned to be the Jailer.
The helmet broke, he is bolvar again
already did that, its called cata, people where mad then yeah but nobody said thrall wasnt horde, heh if it happened today, seeing how bane is treated lol it wouldnt go well on horde side
Besides the devs and Thrall himself.
Is Bolvar powerful or a washed up Lich King? Because this forum seems to think he’s both depending on their point. I personally don’t see him as all that powerful, especially now that the helm is broken. Without that he’s just a mildly strong pseudo-DK, I wouldn’t even put him above many of the stronger Horde DKs, or as strong as Arthas was pre-Helm.
Without the Helm’s influence he’s no longer the Lich King in any way that matters, that includes his mental state. No more Lich King, just extra crispy Bolvar, the important aspect to him is his knowledge, not power. The guy’s own mother was essentially the patron saint of Stormwind refugees when they were fleeing to Lordaeron, of course now that he’s no longer wearing the Spiky Bucket Of Evil Voices he’ll be more loyal to the Alliance.
That being said, this won’t have a lasting impact, the guy has so many death flags it’s not even funny, and even if he lives somehow, he’s not extending past this expansion. If the concern is power imbalance, then Bolvar sure as hell won’t count as one, while Vol’jin will be coming back as a Loa, putting him above many characters in terms of power.
Poised, it isn’t a question of power. Bolvar is one of my favorite characters. I like him as neutral. He’s existed longer as a neutral character than he has as an alliance character. He was a compelling anti-villain.
Added to this, he has the added threat of taking the Ebon Blade into the Alliance like Tyralyon took the Silver Hand.
To the prior point, unfortunately the aspect of him being an anti-villain was lost when the Helm was broken, because that was the prime cause of his personality shift. Sans that, and a Frostmourne of his own, there’s nothing to keep his persona from reverting to old Bolvar. That said, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, Bolvar in Wrath was pre-faction war and seemed to have one of the better/more fun interactions with the Horde. The Wrathgate cinematic for me is still what I feel is the best example of Alliance and Horde interactions, working against a common foe while trading quips and jabs, with clear differences in their culture.
As for bringing the Blade into the Alliance, I feel that’s a moot point because the guy is going to die in Shadowlands, or will be written out in a way that he may as well be dead. He’s a crispy fire golem being kept alive by dragonbreath and plot device, he doesn’t walk away from this expansion, that’s a given. If the Blade going Alliance was an impending issue, well… it’s been led by a human since it was created, and most of the primary members are of Alliance aligned races. If that were a concern, it probably would have happened already.
Cata is like 10 years ago, get over it- it wasn’t even that bad, one quest chain in Nordrassil, 1 dungeon and 1 raid.
Ten years of being in a terrible situation leave lasting changes on a person. And that’s understating what he’s been through. Blizzards “huehue i see my daughter and suddenly i’m just like i was when i was alive” thing is shoddy writing.
Turalyon has had death flags since TBC my dude. Just because Bolvar has them too, does not mean that he’s going to die.
Thrall’s neutral contributions in Cata were pretty flimsy compared to some of the Alliance sided neutral quest givers over the years. What did he do exactly? Tell players to go help in Deepholme? That little quest chain where you piece together his fractured psyche? His part in Dragon Soul?
Khadgar, Rhonin, Malfurion, and hell even Turalyon and Alleria had more to give Horde players than Thrall gave Alliance.
Something tells me that Blizzard really wouldn’t care that much. People have been kicking and screaming about Baine getting spotlight for years now and they still have him doing things.
I say let them cry.
PS: Seeing as Saurfang wanted the Horde to become a more active defender of Azeroth after Sylvanas, it would make sense for the Horde to build something that would contribute to that effort.
C’mon, lad. This is hogwash and you know it. You certainly aren’t helping the stereotype.
lol did you even read what I posted lol
Hilarious. How many expansions have you gone on murder sprees in your own capital, betrayed and attacked your faction leaders, and watched those that remain crawl to the other faction to lick their boots? How many of your faction leaders have been replaced by pawns of the other faction that didn’t even exist until five minutes ago?
Honestly, this isn’t much of a surprise. The real shocker is how much the story bends over itself to put more spotlight on Anduin.
her dad would be most likely in revendreth or bastion, it depens what is more important for him, his duty or his pride
hrmm, naa, thats not true in case of Rhonin, Turalyon and Alleria. Malfurion, hrmm, maybe, and Khadgar for sure, i mean, he lead us two entire addons.
Has anyone considered Bolvar was not really Bolvar with the helm on?
He had a massive personality shift after having it ripped off.
If so, him reverting to old Bolvar after he has been cleansed of its influence would make sense.
This is a good thing. In the majority of cases neutrality should be a temporary, short-term measure centred around a single purpose, and afterwards neutral characters should resume their place in the faction to which they belong.
Permanent neutrality leads to ridiculous scenarios like the Cenarion Circle overlooking the burning of Ashenvale or the Argent Crusade and Ebon Blade ignoring the Scourging of Lordaeron 2.0. Cataclysm shouldn’t happen again and I’m glad Blizzard are being sensible with Bolvar’s outlook.
