Spoilers - I knew this whole time

that collecting all this [Removed by Forum Moderator for language.] Azerite was going to be turned around to bite us in the butt!

Looking forward to the next raid!

The King of Diamonds, Magni, was indeed made a pawn, who made us all pawns as well, in the plan to release N’Zoth.

I just want the upcoming pew pew death laser.

For perfectly legitimate and not at all evil reasons.

I hate it, i really hate having to work for something that is going to be used against us but i admit that i didnt saw this coming and its actually a pretty decent twist.

I am out of the loop because I haven’t been able to play much since the expansion released…I’m mostly caught up on the story but feel as though I’m missing something here. What gives?

Think a lot of people already knew about Magni. Remember when you get revered with Champions of Azeroth you get that n’zoth minion appearance and what does Magni do? Shoot Azerite at it. That could have feed N’zoth or empowered him. Who knows.

I’m pretty lost too. I just looked on Wowhead and MMO Champ and didn’t see anything about Magni.

During the emerald nightmare raid il’gynoth whispered a couple of supposed prophecies, one of them was:
Il’gynoth:The king of diamonds has been made a pawn.

Spoilers:

Summary

On patch 8.2 when you finish the raid, azshara uses the power of the HoA that magni gave to you to release N’Zoth, so he was indeed made a pawn.

People have been gong through the datamined broadcast text before/during/after the 8.2 raid. It’s spoilerific, but we probably should be cautious where we wander wearing a necklace filled with world-shaking levels of power.

So basically the Azerite we all have been collecting is going to be used by Queen Azshara to release N’Zoth from his prison. Magni was being manipulated to tell us to go around collecting all of this power with the Heart of Azeroth necklace just so it can be used against us in the end.

/sigh
I just… i have no words at this point. I am the villain of BfA through and through. After a while, the writing where we are constantly manipulated and do terrible things gets annoying and depressing.
It’s not even interesting anymore, it has been such a constant staple its boring now.

It seems Blizzard is under the odd impression that we enjoy being portrayed as easily manipulated prats.

I remember playing in a AD&D campaign in which the DM was having our party gather pieces of a staff from several dungeons…and all the while, dropping what he thought were subtle hints that the powerful mage sponsoring our outtings wasn’t being exactly truthful to us.

When the day came that we were to deliver the last piece of the relic-staff to him, my character demanded that he explain what it was for. Naturally, our employer refused to answer, and even threatened us…so we presented the item within a bag of holding, and then promptly tossed it into a portable hole that another in our group set down moments before.

The look on our DM’s face was priceless…and there are times when I wish we could throw a wrench like that into Blizzard’s arbitrary works.

High five for laziness and mediocrity!

Interesting. So does this mean that Sylvanas got that yapping dagger to kill an old god?

That’s assuming she was seeking an item of power for the non-selfish purpose of doing a good deed. Who are we talking about again?

TRUE!

We’re constantly manipulated in game and out. The story always twists to portray us as ignorant, naive, heroes who will say yes to the first person we find is in trouble and it always comes back to bite us. We’re also manipulated out of the game via microtransactions, such as the “See You Later Bundle”. I mean, that’s as scummy as it gets - to put an expiration date on digital items in their store as to quickly siphon cash from their already devoted customers.

Blizzard is the original Old God, is my estimation - true master of manipulation. :cow:
