(Spoilers) Baine's šŸ§

Oh, weā€™ve hated Baine long before Sylvanas was Warchief

Thereā€™s that tooā€¦

Itā€™s okay, Baine, I still :purple_heart: you!

Ofc heā€™d be pro-war. He was pro-war against the Legion, Old Gods, Troll Tribes, etc. Because theyā€™re actually existential threats to the Horde. Not the Alliance and the Choir Boy that leads them.

As soon as Sylvanas burnt down the Hordeā€™s bargaining chip, this war against the Alliance became asinine. Especially considering the giant sword thatā€™s slowly killing the planet. (I donā€™t like this story, but thatā€™s what it is.)

Additionally, the comment you made is ignorant of the context of TOW, where the writer bent over backwards to create a sense of a ceasefire, created a scenario where the Alliance only attacked Taurajo because they received false intel that the Horde was planning to attack them from Taurajo, and the Alliance otherwise wasnā€™t attacking the Tauren. The whole point of that event was to show that Baine, unlike Garrosh, knew how to cut his losses. Either he could retaliate and set the whole world on fire, or accept that the Alliance made a mistake and give peace a chance.

Can you really not see a middle ground between atrocity and surrender?

Because Baine is just a pale shadow of Cairne is what it comes out to. Also it feels like he has done more for the alliance than he ever has for the horde.

Cairne would have straight up challenged slyvanus.

I mean, baine is so pro alliance that he would probably send Anduin a letter apologizing for his people getting get by alliance arrows.

I know they want me to see Baine as noble and peace-loving and honor him for it, but I just feel like theyā€™re trying too hard.

Thats EXACTLY whats going to happen, now you know how MoP (and Cata to a lesser extend) felt

That seal was totes adorbs

Seems like that is what Baine is doing. He hasnā€™t turned himself over to the Alliance like Saurfang did. Heā€™s still working with the Horde and player at Undercity and at Zandalar. Probably because he values Horde lives.

I donā€™t know, I donā€™t get the current Baine hate. I was more annoying when he wasnā€™t actually saying or doing anything. So I find his consistent characterization as being pro-peace and working towards it as a positive.

He kills Horde soldiers to deliver Derek to his family, so I guess he values him more than The Horde it seems.

Than The Horde? I wouldnā€™t say that. Than those specific soldiers? Sure. In the same way Horde wanting to stop Garroshā€™s actions valued that over the lives of the loyalists they killed.

I think Baine will also be the one who lied to Derek about what happened in Durotar- to stop him from killing Jaina. Heā€™s taking matters into his own hands to achieve his surrender to the alliance agenda.

Honestly? At this point Iā€™m so numb to the overall storyline (especially on my Horde characters) that Iā€™m just happy that I have an option that doesnt make my character feel like a cackling villain.

I dont want to be Sylvanasā€™ little stooge, I was sick of Nathanos in Legion, and at this point I dont care how poorly written or out of character or nonsensical the paths are I just want to stop feeling like a ^@#%&^ cartoon villain on my Horde toons.

So, itā€™s ok to kill innocent soldiers on behalf of the greater good? Sounds pretty hypocritical to meā€¦

Depends on if the person finds them innocent. Just following orders doesnā€™t always fly as a defense. But you have to break some eggs to make an omelet.

How so?

Iā€™m veeeeeeeeery likely to do so, but depending on how exactly the scene and everything before it plays out, weā€™ll see.
