yeah we all know you’ll be like “Sylvanas still got the keyyyyy!”
Remember when people complained that Tyrande didn’t kill Nathanos in Darkshore?
Remember how those same people complained when Tyrande did eventually kill Nathanos. In a cinematic. Very easily. Like, stupid easily?
I know! You need not a large, but a clean and whole bowl! This requires repairs, because even when the bowl is broken, they will complain, because we have more shards!
There was some kind of retcon that limited knowledge. Ancient ones? Or was it not with the night elves? Who has the lore “reduced” with retcones?
And who are the Ancients now? These are still the trees that wisp possessed, right?
Two years later. And not over the Horde.
this is the PTR hun, they are not gonna show us the cinematics they are still WIP. “Offscreen” is relative when the screen has gaps in production.
I honestly couldn’t care less about that. That entire arch is pretty meaningless to me. I don’t even think I’ve really been on the SF since before Anduin became Arthas 2.0. Because that story is just stale shark jumping it feels like.
Honestly, being a Warcraft fan since 1995, with WC2 being my first experience with video games, there has never been a time where I have been less invested in the franchise.
Dark Shore Victory cinematic that was literally never finished lol.
Oh gosh! 2 years? It’s almost like story takes time to develop…
I’m still waiting for the Forsaken to get back at Arthas. When do you think that will happen?
Oh wait…
This quest is literally the intro to the patch lol
I don’t know if there was ever meant to be a Darkshore victory cinematic, tbh.
seems like they cut a lot of stuff even before the beta, like the Nathanos and Malfurian alternate scenario bosses. I personally thought that was a much better and higher stakes Warfront than Sira vs Maiev. The fact that they cut meant that they probably didn’t want to have Malf and Nathanos face off and they saved Nathanos to be taken out by Tyrande so that’s fair.
Only the story did not develop, it passed by.
On his own conditions, that was the complaint. The Horde didn’t wipe out the Night Elves and destroy their lands on their conditions, yet the small victories night elves get are always spinned around to be part of the enemy’s plan.
Nathanos wants to go to the maw? Sure let Tyrande kill him.
The Horde has wiped out the night elves and blighted their zones? Sure let them get one of their zones back (for 50% of the time, when it’s phased)
…Tyrande killing Nathanos doesn’t count as the story developing?
If you say so…
I mean, Nathanos is a minor character that no one cares about and has played zero role in the SL story thus far so… Yeah. narrative zero lump sum type of development.
1 of many.
I agree.
Oh yeah, I remember the lamenting.
“Nathanos got what he wanted.”
“He’ll be back alongside Sylvanas in the next patch.”
Well, where is he now?
Give it a few more weeks
That was the main complaint I saw night elf players bring up with it
Well they did, but that was fully onesided, a glorious victory for the Horde.
Except all the Night Elf players bemoaning his lack of death in Darkshore.
But, but I was assured by so many that he was going to be cackling madly at night elves beside his dark queen.
What happened?
He still important to Sylvanas and that would be a huge loss to her personally.
It would still be considered a win. Tyrande killing him was a win for her.
Mmmm… nope.
This story did not go well for the night elves. As the story of Nathanos’ death - great, his epic, the losses in Dazal’Alor, the failure in Orgrimmar and the ending - the flight to the estate. Good story of a fall. Revenge of the night elves was somehow… jerky. Torn film.
