[SPOILER] Is Baine key to Redemption for the Horde?

Right but that doesnt change the fact that the blood elves were guilt of what she accused them of.
The only thing Jaina did not do properly was follow procedures.

Does this mean the alliance are going to get a quest to break Baine out of prison?

Baine can die in fire with a long slow painful death as Anduin is forced to watch. Calia can also join baine in that fire.

It’s still a bad thing, you just can’t kill others because your honor or “pragmatism” demand it. That is the reason Garrosh went from popular to hated by everyone, without mention the alliance use suicides squads and yet they don’t give a damm to push the adventage those soldiers were sacrificed.

Lorash is just a mercenary, I doubt he will care about him or even know if he exist, the same thing can be said with “does Katherine feels bad some Kul’tirans pirates are helping the horde”?

He knows the stakes are high because of the burning of Teldrassil and probably he is just buying time to get another power up like he got in thunder island in case Sylvanas turns against him

Which brings us to the point of Baine and Lor’themar. While the first condoned those erroneous procedures and in consequence forfeited any claim of justice post event, the second didn’t. Which means yes, even a “traitorous” Belf offers better guarantees of survival and dignity on the trials than the Tauren too enamoured with the idea of peace to properly implement it. To the ire of people both defending Baine and believing throwing shade at Lor’themar somehow makes Baine better or something (sadly we didn’t prove that, quite the opposite).

The only reason people support Baine is because he is the only one that actually does anything.

Your only problem seems to be that he did not get some sort of apology for Taurajo which after everything the Horde had done would be a ludicrous demand.
Fact is Baine is the only one that is standing for what he believes in while the other leaders just passively watch on and enable everything Garro- i mean sylvanas does.

'Member when Vol’jin was supposed to redeem the Horde and lead it into a new age of being Not The Villains?

'Member once he became warchief how he did basically nothing for an entire expansion and then died at the start of the next one?

I 'member.

It’s almost like we’ve done this all before

Because this is the only story the Horde ever gets. We’re the Not Bad Guys and then we are because every character in our faction forgets all the development they got in the previous expansions when they decide to go Pants on Head stupid evil for the lulz.

I doubt so. Most of his supporters are either also suspiciously supporters of Anduin and the whole “muh Peacecraft” stuff; people that hate Sylvanas and that will gladly accept a Campfire for Warchief or the usual childish “buut, buut!! Muh Monster exclusive Hurdeeee!!!” livong out of nostalgia of aesthetics (not even thematics ffs, mere aesthetics).

I’m definitely one of the “peacecraft” folks, but more because I detest the faction conflict on a narrative level. As such, I’m far more forgiving to characters that have to common sense to want to end this worthless war.

Players can’t decide what they want from the Faction conflict. All they want is the other side be reprehensible villains so they can revel in slaughtering them; nothing to really change; no consequences to be had; things be “kept even”; no writing tools like the “unreliable narrator” be used to achieve any of that; and for it go into perpetuity, no matter how detrimental ALL of that is to creating even a semblance of a good story. All of that would be a challenge to work around with even the best writers in an MMO, but with Blizz’s current team
 its just outrage.

On top of all that nonsense, 6 CORE races still don’t even have motives to be invested in the damned thing. The Dwarves, Gnomes, Draenei, Tauren, BEs, and Bilgewater (outside of War-Profiteering) have no dogs in this fight. Of those that do have reasons, the NE and Forsaken contention with the opposing faction is independent of their factions. The Darkspear have been ripped apart by their own faction, the Gilneans are largely irrelevant. This just leaves Humans and Orcs, and people wonder why these two always take center stage? That doesn’t even touch on Pandas and Allied Races.

Beyond that
its been like what? 32 years since the first war? Where are ANY of these races (except Dwarves) getting the expendable people to invest in this absolutely petty conflict that up until Garrosh really only boiled down to shallow border disputes? Even the shorter lived races would have only had about a generation and a half (of near constant warfare and near extinction level events) to repopulate in that time. Am I missing something? How does ANY of this constitute a good foundation for an even halfway decent competent story (even in the right hands)?

In short, the world of WARcraft doesn’t work anymore. So why not support those characters allowed enough sense to realize that?

Is Baine the key to making the Horde a weak copy/paste of the Alliance?

Indeed
I hate the effects the “faction conflict” Blizz TM has over the story, the characters and the game as much as anyone can, but I won’t condone nor accept the laziness of the devs.

And making the Horde just a cheap and more irrelevant copy of the Alliance is just that: laziness, pure and simple.

Don’t know how much I can really say besides Baine is lame. The Horde doesn’t need to be “redeemed” or have to “apologize” to the Alliance at all. I’d like to say it’d be much more preferable for him to face the consequences of his actions by having a majority of his people turn their backs away him for undermining the Horde’s war effort, but that’s never gonna happen.

Both sides have so much reason to want crush each other and for it to end in anything less than a perpetual land-lock cold war scenario, the story will suffer immensely.

It’s unfortunate things were pushed this far in the story, from Stromheim on wards, none of what happened should be swept under the rug. And if the current Warchief will no longer hold that role in the future, that will confirm that the Horde’s story will always play second fiddle to the Alliance’s.

I do not consider forsaken to be horde. Baine has my seal of approval. Yes Anduin is a wet noodle, and night elves are going to be left wanting under him. Baine’s true loyalties have been to his people and his sense of honor and compassion. Also to azeroth. What has been done by sylvanas is something that has affected the tauren and perhaps many members of all the other races, negatively.

The forsaken need to go away now. I will reiterate this: anyone with two brain-cells to rub together, knows that sylvanas’ goals are not in the best interest of anyone but her. She wants to blight and raise everyone. not just alliance. with so many horde being nothing but drooling hot-topic customers and krokodill adicts things have become complicated.

Baine sees what is happening. So does saurfang. They won’t be able to do things alone. Even as horde, I don’t consider the alliance to be a bad thing, or evil.

people keep talking about stormheim as if it was a bad thing. It wasn’t. It should have been done by the horde. the whole stormheim mission was a personal endevour by sylvanas. Stopping sylvanas from completing her personal agenda is good for everyone. We should have been asking as to why she was there to enslave the valkyr rather than get the titan macguffins?

While the Warchief Sylvanas sends in forsaken forces to aid the player in retrieving the Aegis of Aggramar, she also explains that she’ll be heading into Stromheim aswell to complete her own mission in finding a way to get unlimited Val’kyr. This is to ensure that she can do what she already does with her own valkyr and that is to get more 1-UPS as well ensuring that more Forsaken can be produced, and possibly even giving them immortality as well.

She had taken her flagship, the Windrunner, to Stormheim in the Broken Isles, in search of more Val’kyr to resurrect the fallen . It was, thus far, the only way Sylvanas had found to create more Forsaken . “I was almost able to enslave the great Eyir. She would have given me the Val’kyr for all eternity. None of my people would have ever died again.” She paused. “I would have saved them.”

Then the Alliance begin their UNPROVOKED ASSAULT ON HORDE FORCES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WAR WITH PLANET SLICER SPACE SATAN because Genn feels like that’s the perfect time to ANTAGONIZE HALF THE PLANET’S DEFENSE AGAINST PLANET SLICER SPACE SATAN.

:joy: Is this a joke? :joy:

Baine was pilloried for months for doing nothing but talk, and then his first move of any note is to assist the Alliance and kill Horde at the same time. And it’s all over the treatment of one person, and not any of the mass killings that preceded it.

People like to make the excuse that ‘This was the straw that broke the camel’s back’, but that doesn’t absolve him for his complicity in any of the prior atrocities. Baine has been mauled by this story, and holding him up as a point of redemption or the ‘Only one who does anything’ is dooking comedy gold.

Actually I am right. Most of her resources went to clearing the way to getting those valkyr. like the alliance who spend most of their resources pummeling the forsaken fleet.

Let me repeat. This is something NO ONE who enjoys living, wants. The forsaken should not reproduce. They do so by killing entire villages and cities. They are scourge. It doesn’t matter at the end of the day, what she wants we already know and what she wants and it is bad for azeroth and both sides of the faction divide.

Space satan can wait. Sometimes you have to deal with the enemies you know before or while you are dealing with the enemy you don’t know.

It is a response to everything that has happened until now. If fellow horde are going to be nu-scourge cultists, they need to die. I killed scourge members of all sorts of races. Killing scourge is good for one and all, even if they disguise themselves a horde or alliance. And yes this story is a train-wreck. But if there is any way of tossing what we have now for something better I would be interested in it.

And if they’re just sailors on a ship like any other?

Deciding who you are allowed to kill by stripping them of their status as people is pretty evil, friend. Are you sure this is the path of honor?
