Why do people praise that old cutscene? It hasn’t aged well at all
Aww team up, that’s a good cinematic. I like when people team up. The second one looks old and the screaming is obnoxious.
If Bolvar just turned into a cube, we could’ve saved so much time.

To be fair, you’re probably going to get your wish. The two next expansions imply that we are going to lose pretty hard in the next expansion (WW) or at the very least it won’t be a win.
I like both, however as much as I enjoyed the old cutscenes. They were great when first created, but the new cut scenes are leagues ahead of them.
First one just makes Fyrakk look like an idiot and ripped out of the MCU.
Second one has some intrigue surrounding it with a less heavy emphasis of magical beings fighting on a plane higher than mortals.
He’d dominate if he could turn into a dodecahedron. Better still: a tesseract.

Everyone understand the MCU reference, my problem is that whole scene about the “calvary is here” portal has a clear prelude:

Then when you’ve the main characters fail in that 3 vs 1, you’ve that glorious moment with the portals:

If you only show me Alexstrasza receiving 1 hit in the air and then jump to the portal scene…you’re killing the hype, We needed a better fight scene between those 2 character or even include Vyranoth and Merithria before their eventual defeat and calvary scene.
In the other hand Wrathgate has that kind of interaction, Alliance soldiers fighting alone and a possible defeat, then the Horde support arrives and the eventual dimise of Saurfang’s son…then a plot twist with the Forsaken, Obviously the cinematic is really old but the story its 1000x better. IMO obviously.
Graphic wise, no.
Writing wise, yes.
Tbf, wrathgate was the first cutscene Blizzard ever did. At least on that scale.
Next expansion Alexstraza is going to have black eyeliner, nail polish, and lipstick while wearing a Misfits shirt.
Unfortunately, so will Anduin.
World of Warcraft: The Soy Within
Everything about the Dragonflight cutscene is better; it has better voice acting, better music, better camera work, better animation, better graphics, better dialogue, etc. It has more attractive women in it (for people who are into that), and it even has more attractive men also (Turalyon, Genn, Lor’themar, Fyrakk). It doesn’t waste your time being 4.5 minutes long when you’re trying to play a video game.
The Wrathgate cinematic literally just looks like Vanilla WoW era fan-made machinima like Illegal Danish (for anyone who remembers that), while the DF cinematic looks totally slick and professional
Dragonflight has great music, as does every expansion.
But Alexstrasza is a nitwit. She’s in battle, she gets injured… so she shifts into her more vulnerable human form.
Because… why?
This is the big flop element of Dragonflight, to me. The dragons… are almost never dragons.

Honestly, I feel like if they changed the music to be somehow more “Dreadful” but make it so it conveys “The villain is screwed” kinda feel, then it be more epic, before then having Fryakk go: “I’LL TAKE YOU ALL ON!”
The Dragonflight cutscene is terrible. Someone saw Endgame a few years too late. And then the dumb plot armor allowing Fyaark to just fly away and leave lmao. So bad. Alexstrasza jobbing again as usual, what is that, like her fourth or fifth cutscene of losing a fight this expansion?
Miserable.
Neat, I have just been skipping every cutscene so I can focus on getting stuff done. So I have no idea what is what story wise.
