I’m betting we’ll see him reveling in the Maw serving the Jailer yelling something like “I will spread death and destruction across the afterlives, this is the destiny I have chosen!!!” But then Thrall reconnects with the elements and goes “No Garrosh, this is where your destiny ends” before using the elements to kill Garrosh’s soul forever.
Garrosh can’t be redeemed. Cause he did nothing wrong
Good god. I wasn’t even aware that short story existed… that was bone-chilling. Thanks for bring it to my attention.
And then he sparkles. Worst timeline ever.
Why would he be in Maldraxxus? That realm is for those whose strength and nobility of conviction defined their lives.
Garrosh may have been strong, but there was no nobility in his later actions. Instead, he succumbed to his hatred and hubris to bring needless death and destruction to the point of willfully embracing Old God corruption. All that mattered to him was victory in the end and he callously tossed aside his honor to achieve it no matter the cost.
He was not strong, he was WEAK. That is why he came to Revandreth at his end, his hubris and hatred brought nothing but suffering so it was only fair that he taste that suffering firsthand.
He is, however, not irredeemable. If he was, he would have been thrown to the tender mercies of the Maw. Rather, his convictions and passion slowly became twisted under the weight of the responsibilities that he frankly wasn’t ready for. Thrall was right to blame himself for Garrosh’s failure, he chose to make an Orc Warchief even though there were better qualified candidates and even after Cairne and Garrosh himself told him he felt he wasn’t ready for it.
In time and with more tempering, Garrosh may well have been a fantastic Warchief. But he was given too much power too quickly and his inexperience and passions led him to push away the advice of more seasoned veterans like Cairne which caused him to slowly become more isolated and eventually paranoid because he felt he could only rely on himself.
Yeah sparkled as his soul was destroyed forever after enjoying his redemption for like ten minutes because he found out too much about Denathrius. Seriously I’m afraid they’re only including Garrosh show how much of dick Denathrius is uniting Garrosh defenders and condemners not in hatred of Denathrius like they hope but in disgust over bad writing.
There’s quest lines in Eastern Plaguelands which describe similar experiences. Souls being trapped inside ghouls forced to watch thru the eyes of their undead form while they’re helpless to stop their body from murdering people, loved ones, etc. So we have to put them down and release the souls.
I believe the worst cases have zombies that are conscious of their actions and forced to commit atrocity after atrocity being compelled by a voice which overwhelms your ability to act and react.
The plague of undeath is inhuman and if you ever go to Naxxramas and listen to the screams of a certain boss. Ugh. Put the volume on high and try not to have nightmares.
I find it funny, that when anyone brings up Garrosh, people immediatly bring up Stonetalon, which even the Devs at the time, admitted that was a miscommunication between the writers and the person who wrote the quests for that zone. As if Stonetalon somehow absolves Garrosh of all his crimes.
I mean, I’m not surprised? Garrosh was a bad dude, but if Kael can end up in Ravendreth, then there is no reason that Hellscream couldn’t end up there. Plus, we are talking about a game that “redeemed” friggen Illidan and seems alarmingly poised to do the same with Arthas. Hellscream is a drop in the bucket compared to those two.
