It would also take definition. What constitutes “abuse?” Doing it more than once on the same person? Using it more than a couple times a day? Knowing Blizzard, they’ll make the rules as they go.
It hasn’t been removed from classic yet either, it is just on the PTR. Next time retail has an update you can bet it is going away.

Cash shop mounts and boosts apparently. It doesn’t matter what they are upset about, removing the means by which people express their dissatisfaction doesn’t actually do anything about them being upset. It doesn’t matter how dumb you think them being mad is, they are mad and silencing them is wrong.

It isn’t about doing anything about those people being upset. It’s about preventing the “upset players” from disrupting the paying/playing players from having a good time.
I dont agree with removing spit but would you beat up a baby or someone in a wheelchair? Thats what you sound like when you say people are weak so its okay to upset them.
That’s literally what a protest requires? If you aren’t inconveniencing someone nobody is going to pay attention to you. Also /spit is hardly comparable to violence or harassment.
