/spit is a negative emote often used by toxic players

Imagine being upset by a virtual emote… if war ever breaks out between the USA and China then China will win for sure because the US is just full of snowflakes

Yet the generation that defeated the Axis faced far more censorship on radio, in movies and eventually TV. Hmmm it’s almost as if offensive language isn’t a sign of true toughness or grit. In my experience, those who use foul language and offensive behavior are often compensating for their weakness.

Have you ever read Sun Tzu?

“The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting.”

Id rather just get spit on honestly. Its much less toxic and annoying than some kid who pays for two wow accounts and whispers me on the other one after i gank him

I only use /spit for mining node ninjas. My server is 2:1 alliance:horde yet have only had 1 instance of a horde trying to tap the same node I’m at. Alliance… dozens of times during tbcc.

I’ve never done it to alliance and only 1 time to horde. Poor orc prot warror blew his intimidating shout to try to get a tap as he was fighting rock elementals. I only took one tap and left.

If I were the one fighting a mob on a node, a “fellow” alliance would not hesitate to tap the entire node while I was fighting.

Keep the /spit

It’s just the lanuage, its the attitude.

The current generation does what’s easy, they don’t put forth the hard work, the grit of the past, as someone born in 87 I’m part of the millennials and instead of grit, we have whining, instead of hard work, we have complaining. We don’t face adversity with a grin and a wink, we face it by complaining that our parents and grand parents screwed up our future. My grandfather and great Uncle both fought in WW2, they had grit, they took the adversity and when Pearl Harbor was attacked my great uncle lied about his age and enlisted at 15 because he knew it was the right thing to do, my grandfather dropped out of medical school and joined the Navy as a corpsemen, neither of them had to go, but they wanted to go, they wanted to fight in hell with their buddies and they wanted to defend their country. Today could you honestly say the average high school sophmore would lie about his age to enlist, that he is willing to go through hell because he knows it’s the right thing to do? That’s the diffrence. As for censorship yes media was censored, but that was more because in the 40’s and 50’s we where a nation under God, that changed in 1962 thanks to the supreme court. That is only about lanuage, this was also an era where if someone got into your face you had ever right to beat the snot out of them, this was the era where men settled disputes with fists not feelings.

Toxic players sometimes make the game interesting :slightly_smiling_face:

I know many many high schoolers. And I have tremendous respect for this young generation. I’ll never understand old people that complain about the young. Times change and the young are typically best at adapting to that change. If there’s a problem in our culture I think it has more to do with a bunch of old men that can’t accept that it’s not the 20th century anymore.

If you think being tough means that you are willing to settle disputes with fists, I think you have a rather shallow view of toughness.

im 34 buddy, but sometimes the best way to solve a problem is your fists. Someone harasses my wife I’m just gonna lay them out on the floor and kick their teeth in, I’m not gonna sit them down and explain why they shouldn’t do it

i think its funny

How do Undead even generate saliva in their mouths?

Lmao get off the internet you baby

Hey you, stupid person.

Report people for harassment. I know it’s only been possible for about two decades so it’s pretty new. Spread the word though.

I think removing things from the game to make sure people can’t be mean is a great idea but it’s very limited in scope. We should petition to make safe places for people to go where they can’t have their feeling hurt. Or petition to have it so when people do harass there is a symbol on their character like a gold star or tattoo for identification. If they do something really bad we can even put them into time out camps. I like where you’re headed with this!

I have been, but little gets done. Seems like Blizz’s automated silence punishment only works if you have enough key words like slurs.

Well in theory this is already done with silence punishments and bans, but it’s executed poorly.

Thanks!

If it was your ore, then why is it in my inventory?

No, that’s a terrible idea. Children should not be in wars.

As a squid, no, I don’t want them to. It’s already hard enough working with 18 year olds in a non combat situation, I don’t want 15 year olds in a combat situation.

I skimmed most of this thread, but I saw you raging about how you’re 34 and would beat someone up for sexually assaulting your wife. While I agree with violence in that scenario, this whole rant about signing up while underage is the most scuffed take I have seen in a while.

What if it’s actually executed very well, and that most things people report don’t really make the cut for harassment (or whatever).

Glad to see real world Karen’s making it into the game

For character emersion. It’s an MMO-RPG after all.

Should we remove chat while we’re at it?

No this is a point that the current crop of younger folks don’t have the grit and determination of the past generations, and that’s reflected in the current military even. Now the military has safe spaces, and if your stressed out you can opt out for the day. I wouldn’t trust this current generation to win a war against Monaco.
