/spit emote was removed from PTR recently, and I have ask:
In what positive or neutral scenario does spit serve a purpose in game?
It’s a negative connotation often used by toxic parts of the community to attack players, often other parts of the community. Like people who purchased the Warp Stalker mount or the 58 boost.
Blizzard is trying to reform the classic community is which is plagued by a toxic elitist sect who proclaim #nochanges, go back to retail, etc etc, and /spit is one of their tools.
I don’t get the outrage around this, Why would blizz allow that kind of stuff in game?
I never claimed to “take credit”, re-read my post and you’ll see. But seriously, I don’t understand the outrage around a removing negative emote commonly used by toxic players
So there isn’t a thread here on the front page, covering the same topic basically where you said “I win”… linking your trashy post about being offended getting spat on for buying the boosted mount?
You really wanna go that way?
Also its not a negative emote. Its spitting. Most people do it everyday. Your association with it does not change the fact that it is a completely normal behaviour.
Imagine getting offended by this… in a 16 year old game.
I never bought a boosted mount, not sure if you read that post, or this post, judging by your earlier comment.
This is what is called in english class known as “Hyperbole”, nevermind that I replied you on that earlier, telling you the same thing: that I didn’t claim Blizzard removed the emote because of my thread.
That’s silly, so I’m not sure why you repeated it here.
The vast majority of people who use it to spit on another player, doesn’t take a genius to figure out if that has a good or bad connotation.
Pointing out that a emote used almost exclusively by toxic players got removed by Blizzard isn’t being offended. Not sure where you got that idea.
They are removing /spit ? Now I’ll actually have to insult same faction people who try to steal my mining nodes, and use cross faction speaking to insult Alliance.
Some of my friends will jokingly /spit on each other, especially when we randomly encounter each other in a city. I prefer /pity. And of course targeting and spitting on a mob that gave us trouble. None of us ever spit on strangers. I virtually never use the emote, and don’t like when opposing players /spit on me, but I really dislike to see these petty changes Blizzard makes in the name of player comfort/safety/whatever else. How do these people go through life dealing with any form of conflict or discomfort? Part of me looks forward to the day when I’ve got the classic itch out of my system, and can stop being a Blizzard customer.
It’s part of the classic game that we dont want changes and a core way to express ourselves. If you can’t handle getting /spit on your playing the wrong game
There are a lot of toxic players on the forums, I can’t imagine losing my mind over this change. Most players won’ even notice it’s gone because they don’t spam /spit on every player they see
