/spit is a negative emote often used by toxic players

Who the F is so soft they get upset that they can’t spit on people in a video game?

I’m not saying I agree with /spit gone, but you seem kind of triggered yourself.

We should ban /train
Or every mote except /yes and /no … So when I’m killed, the enemy can’t make fun and hurt my little weak feelings y_Y

I once did /spit to a Horde player in PvP. We were playing in AB. This drove him into a frenzy so fierce, he forgot what he was doing and summarily fell off the drop at Lumber Mill. Following this, we capped Lumber Mill by a narrow margin, but it allowed us to eventually win the game.

Just goes to show, if that emote had never been implemented, we could very well have lost that game.

/spit matters. It matters!

That’s not what is upsetting people.

Tokenistically removing the emote to protect people who get offended by role play emotes is the issue. Censorship and extreme political sanitization of game content - as a PR exercise.

The question people like me are asking is where does it stop?

So, it’s not what they’re doing but why they’re doing it that is objectionable.

It’s an Orwellian attempt to reprogram the community into thinking that the company that had cubicle crawls is woke.

You can’t nerf how people feel about you. If I don’t like you then that’s too bad. Suck it up.

I dont care if you get spit on because some guy made an addon .

Did you know every scarab lord would get spit on 100 time more often than you with your communal gear.

Here perpective about your situation here.

spit also use often by passionated player who are getting treated unfairly (FROM THERE POINT OF VIEW) AM TERRIBLE AT PVP BUT I SHOULD BE ABLE TO SIT ON THIS BLACK LOTUS SPAWN AND NOT GET FARMED.

Am glad this lock that i camped 7 time in the blasted land. He even got a retail gladiator to come help him aka ( Durmaster). When they ambush me as he spawn. I killed him again but durmaster killed ME

AND DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS LITTLE GNOME WARLOCK DID HE USE IS SOULSTONE RUN AND TOWAR MY CORPS AND SPAM SPIT LIKE A MANIAC !

GOD BLESS YOU SIR!

Blizzard just did by removing spit, so wrong again

I don’t know where you get off thinking you are owed a MMO experience where there are no negative interactions. Freedom of expression is a bedrock principle of western democratic society.

It’s safe space kids like you that are the reason some newer online games don’t even have chat between teams in them. If you can’t handle somebody emoting /spit at you then life is going to be very difficult for you, but that is YOUR problem.

Where did I claim I was owed a MMO with no negative interactions? In any case, i’m not sure why you are so offended by my acknowledgement that /spit is a toxic emote.

It’s your opinion that the word toxic is a good label for /spit, I think it’s a very tame way of expressing frustration or dislike.

Do you ever wonder how many of these developers who are censoring the game now are the very same ones who censored LGBTQ+ guilds and communities up until very recently?

LOL guess what? I don’t like you. No matter what Blizzard does they can’t force me to play with you or be nice to you.

But removing /spit changes how you feel and also cleanses Blizzard of all their previous (as in last week) wrong doing! /sarcasm.

It’s the typical view of the woke that you can force people to think and feel differently by changing language and censoring various words and images. Ideological cleansing.

Unfortunately humans don’t work that way and we have a habit of arcing up when people force stuff on us. Especially when it’s a tokenistic marketing exercise. Nothing breeds discontent more than hypocrisy.

Disclaimer: I don’t dislike Nekogirl, but I vigorously defend Zordiak’s right to - and more poignantly - I strongly disagree with the proposition that tokenistic changes like this do anything to alter the way players think and feel.

We got a badass over here :open_mouth:

That is something I can live with, fortunately I would rather avoid people like you!

Its called world of warcraft not world of softcraft. This change was not needed and honestly it really doesnt do much because I can still kill you and teabag your corpse.

I actually don’t have a problem with you other than you being way too sensitive over an emote. If you don’t like it addons are capable of purging the emote from the chat window before you see it. There’s no need to remove it at the game level when that’s what addons are for.

I like /spit

Whenever someone spams /spit on me in a bg I know they’re pist and it puts a smile on my face

Exactly - emotes are cross faction communication.

People who don’t pvp don’t understand how it works. /spit is friendly teasing on the battlefield.
