When doing group content it doesn’t proc unless you do the killing blow. Is this working at intended?
It has always worked this way, and the tool tip says as much:
"When you get a killing blow on a target that yields exp or honor … "
There are many talents like this in the game, most end up being largely uselss after leveling.
Edit: At low leveles, I always tried to save Mind Blast for a KB in dungeons. Later on, Shadow Word: Death is your friend.
Didn’t mean to sound like a D, just answered your question kind of dry- toned.
The actual tool tips reads, “Gives you a 100% chance to gain a 100% bonus to your Spirit after killing a target that yields experience or honor. For the duration, your mana will regenerate at a 83% rate while casting. Lasts 15 sec.”
It just says after killing a target. Not that you have to be the one to do the killing blow. If it’s always been this way then that’s okay. I was just curious because the tool tip just says after killing something that gives you honor or XP.
Yeah, I can see how it’s somewhat confusing wording, but it’s always been that way. Great healers for melee cleave, if you can manage to consistently get those KBs.
I guess in terms of semantics you’re right, but I may have warped the way I read it because I’ve known how it worked for so long.
I suppose I can see the confusion, but yes it has always worked the way you’re experiencing.
The base Spirit Tap 3/3 has always only proc’d when you get the killing blow (working as intended), & if you learn to time it right then you get it to proc quite a bit in groups with a Shadow Word: Death kill shot. The Improved Spirit Tap 2/2 procs off spellcrits you do while attacking, so the higher your spellcrit, the more it will proc for you solo or grouped.
