Spell reflect question

I know it’s normally better to reflect chaos bolts but if the lock is good he’d do his best to fake or stop cast at the 99% cast mark…would it be better to use spell reflect when he is fast casting immolate, conflagrate at incredible speeds?

not usually, but reflecting at all at high health can be kind of a trap.

getting 100-0d by a single bolt is impossible; it can often be better to absorb some pressure, let them commit the shards and the casting time and potentially some time wasted faking for your kick and or reflect, and then use reflect to get the followup that they’re more hungry for; even if they succeed at faking that reflect, it buys you 3 seconds to recover from the bolt they did spend on you, either to receive heals or make a retreat

ymmv trying to do this when they also have kidney shot on their team; it’s real easy to go for this play and then die in a full one

Pro tip stand inside the lock and run behind it last second so the bolt doesn’t go off

Nope. This is where you start to read his fakes. Every time he fakes it’s damage that he’s not outputting, and he’ll 100% start to get antsy if you’re not reflecting his fakes.

You also have to look at it the other way. If it’s an empowered Chaos Bolt, a Spell Reflect can save your life whether or not it actually reflects anything. Maybe it buys you enough time to get out of the Vortex and leap to a pillar

It’s way better to have the spell reflect as a pseudo interrupt (kinda falls in that category) as the lock will have to be very wary of just going ham on you at risk of having a chaos bolt thrown back at him and get bursted down.

Even if you don’t reflect a single bolt all game, this is still something the lock has to keep in mind all game and constantly waste time to juke. Very good for extra pressure. If you use it on random incinerates he will know it’s not up and get way more bolts off

Don’t use reflect or kick all game and he will stop trying to fake or bait reflect then use them properly during his cd’s at 60% dampening and u will :sunglasses::clap: him.

The mind games are real

Everytime I try to do this I bolt myself anyways, fricking latency.

I miss the days i used to just earth shock (wind shear) spell reflect

Was I bad could purge have worked? idk

then again i like new grounding hurr durr hurrr ahyuck

@Gwen

The answer is always do whatever gives you the most momentum/pressure. Nothing is one size fits all

I’d assume you can use purge to get it off back then. I’d use cleanse on my Druid to do it, but I didnt play shaman so I can’t confirm purge for you lol

i remember there was a point where if the target had no buffs you literally couldn’t purge as it would be an error.

Then after outcrry it was rebalanced as a “skill check” since purge and frost shock were the banes of so many players.

2x purge was so potent back in the day when there werent nearly as many buffs

Now you get something like boomkin/mage/mw or Rdruid with Eonar major (not a real comp I know) and a target can have nearly 20 buffs

Good lock is going to focus bolt your healer when you have reflect off cd

relying on target-of-target in 2019 is an L

What if the warlock has spell reflect up too?

you can’t reflect a reflected bolt. it sucks cuz I would love to see a bolt bounce back and forth between the warlock and warrior a few times before finally landing.
