Speed-Run GO-GO-GO Players. What's The Point?

…You think people run them fast because they wait long?

What do you do when the level 11 twink Fury Warrior rolls in as your tank?

Well if getting to run dungeons faster so to run many more dungeons is the goal. I would think that waiting 30 minutes to an hour for the dungeon would be a major hindrance.

Most people will run after the furry warrior being carried. But that group usually disbands.
Unless you have a premade group, There’s no guarantee that group will stay together, so back to the waiting line.

This is not my experience. If I had to take a stab from memory I’d say roughly 50% of the runs go on at least one more dungeon in these cases.

I can say for a fact that how long I wait has nothing to do with how fast I go in the actual dungeon. Ever.

Every player’s experience will be different.

No matter how you cut it. Dungeon Finder long wait time will decrease the number of dungeons a speed runner can accomplish.

Personal, at least. It would be silly for me to assume my experience differs from the average, so I can only assume it’s somewhat representative (given my sample size is not small.)

Sure.

That has nothing to do with how fast they run the actual dungeon, though.

If you stop and really think of it; if wait times were reduced to say 1 minute. Imagine how many more dungeons could be run. speed runners would maximize profit and accomplishments in a fraction of the time it takes now.

I see what you’re getting at, but I don’t think it holds up under scrutiny. Not everyone starts at the same time, paces themselves the same, nor plays the same every time. Twinks aren’t always on their twinks, some people are doing this at the start, some in the middle, some spread out, and some procrastinate 'til the end.

No…

It became a thing when the unkillable Tankidan appeared in TBC. They literally could not die with over 50% in block, over 50% parry & over 50% block which had a spike on the shield so when it did block it caused the enemy to take damage.

M+, speed runs, none of that ever would of been a thing if it wasn’t for the TBC unkillable Tankidan.

The fact remains that if Dungeon Finder wait times were reduced to 1 minute. Then everyone playing Wow would benefit immensely. This would be a quality of life improvement for all. Specially speed runners who could maximize effort with tangible positive outcomes.

If I could grow infinite wheat, I could end world hunger.

Counter question for people that need a 2-3 min break between each pull…., why?

Oh please do so, and make the world a better place.

There are no breaks in modern dungeon runs. That’s a thing of the past. Like people going AFK for bathroom breaks, or to let the cat out, or to answer the door, or phone etc.

Unfortunately, wheat needs seeds, and nutrients, and care.

Much like queue times are reliant on people doing the content and the ‘puzzle pieces’ of groups fitting nicely. Blizzard isn’t artificially making your queue longer.

Blizzard could streamline the process to entering a dungeon. Like, they have 3,000 employees, you would think that someone at Blizzard would find a solution.

My friend, what would you like them to do?

Create fake players for you?

They have already done that; Follower Dungeons with NPC group members (Hint, hint). Now they can address the regular Dungeon finder wait times.

You want them to force NPC group members to shorten queue times in regular runs?

Yep, heres a tip dont attack or heal and follow the tank…

Why not? Really, why not. No one talks in dungeon finder groups any more, everyone is focused in running the dungeon in 5 minutes, no one cares about the other players. Why even bother pretending that the social aspect even matters anymore. So playing with NPCs would not make a difference to modern players. If wait time is more than 1 minute insert NPC bots to fill missing class rolls.

I’ll let other people answer that. I’m sure there are plenty of opinions on it. Whether anyone responds is another question.
