As a warrior I don’t mind rogues.
Sitting here looking pretty in all this twink gear. About to finish boosting my shaman
I wish they would make Shaman chain-lightning a lot more powerful. It’s flashy enough graphically speaking but I’d love it if it did a ton more damage.
I honestly don’t know enough about ele to give an opinion on them. I have a resto shaman and enhancment shaman now, both are fun. Enhancement just feels like way too many buttons for me though. I have a naga and I bind 1-6 Shift 1-6, Q,E,R,F,V,C,Z and shift mods for all those. Pluse all the naga buttons and shift mods for all the naga buttons, and I still feel like I don’t have enough keybinds for the enhancement sham.
That’s a lot of buttons. Maybe switch to Elemental and spam lightning and earth but I get the feeling you like to get in there hand to hand personal. You are more of a Conan the Barbarian than a Merlin type right?
lol I’m a bit of everything. This new shaman is going to be ele, that’s what I’m making it for. (I make new character for every spec I wanna play because I’m an altaholic)
In D&D I’m currently a wizard/artaficer in a long term campaign. I’m more about “whats fun” rather than a specific “type” of character.
That’s always the best way to play. Makes it more fun. Well keep enjoying life. See you next time
Why ask a question you already answered?
I asked the question because I wanted to know the answer. I had a guess as to why. But I also understand that I don’t know everything. So I ask the players what their reason for speed running dungeons was. I am happy people responded with their opinions and now I have a greater understanding as to the reasons some players play this way.
Wow is a great game. But the players and how they play is also very important. I find it is interesting to learn the players motivations. Provides me with greater insight of the game and it’s players.
Remember, when a person learns to critically think a conspiracy theory dies.
I can tell from your post what your skill level is and its low end. Stop being selfish and expecting everyone around to you cater to you.
Speed running dungeons became a thing when they added heirlooms and the dungeon finder back during WOTLK. Heirlooms made your alts gear outscale the dungeons and dungeons in general were so easy you could run through them in 15 minutes. Before the dungeon finder it could take 30+ minutes to fill up a group, but with the dungeon finder it took <5 minutes.
They went and tried to make the dungeons hard again in Cata, but the players revolted.
Now with M+ they just put a timer on it. =P
I don’t know.
Why do people almost always drive the speed limit instead of 20-30 mph slower?
If there’s any thing that’s questionable here, what’s the point of going slower than you’re capable of?
Because they do.
If it takes 5 minutes to load the laundry machine, why would you want to take 20 minutes doing it?
Dungeons aren’t the prize. They’re a chore you do which leads to the prize.
Queue → Zoom → GG → Repeat.
Fun. The point of it is to have fun.
Again, fun. That’s the reason most people play most games; they have fun playing them.
Third time’s a charm… you guessed it… fun. They don’t play mobile games because they’re not fun. If you think playing on a 6" screen is more fun than playing on a 32" ultrawide, you can enjoy mobile games and there’s no one to stop you!
If it got to the point where my goal was just to get something over with, I’d seriously start to question why I was doing it at all in the first place.
I would rather a well-run dungeon that takes a few extra minutes than a speed run where you miss most of it.
It’s just not fun. If you’re in such a hurry to get out of something, why even do it?
Most people would as well, but the goal for most is not about finishing the dungeon as fast as possible. It’s about finishing the weekly quest or farming the mount. The faster you get out of the current dungeon, the faster you can get into the next one, which means the faster you can finish your goal. For me, it’s the Infinite Timereaver. Going slow in dungeons just means I have less chances to loot it.
Also, time is a resource. Not everyone has infinite time to play the game. If I can do 10 dungeons in 40 minutes with a level 11 fury warrior, I’m going to do it because most of the time I don’t have long periods of time to play.
It’s not a few extra minutes. It’s 3 minutes vs 15 minutes. That’s 5x the amount of time. That’s 4 extra dungeons that could have been run. If you average 4 bosses per dungeon, that’s 16 extra chances at the Timereaver mount.
Because it’s not about “getting out” of the current dungeon, it’s about “getting in” the next one as fast as possible to farm the mount.
Because you have to.
For all you speed runners. I would suggest that one factor you are missing out on is the dungeon entrance wait times. Think of how much time you would save, and how much faster you could run bunches of dungeons if waiting to enter a dungeon was a lot faster.
So start yelling at Blizzard to shorten dungeon wait times. Like ok you can run a dungeon in 5 minutes. Great, but then you gotta wait for another dungeon for 30 minutes. Sure, if you can stick with the group your in now, you might only have to wait another few minutes maybe 5 minutes. But if you need to leave this group for a lot of reasons, then you go back to waiting for the next dungeon that may take a long time.
So tell blizzard that you want faster entrance to the dungeons. That you are tired of having to wait around for long periods of wasted time just to enter a dungeon group.
