Most people reading this post have run into those 6 types of players, yes they exist, and yes they are all bad.
So then, what does frantically following a twink tank at break neck speeds teach a new player aside of; "the best way to run a dungeon with other players is to be “Carried” by some level 10 twink?
Would love to see the statistics on that. Wow started off with 11 million players, at this time it is said that Wow has roughly 2 million players. Can you see the drop there?
If someone is playing an MMO, doing leveling group content with randoms (or literally anything under Myhic+), then that’s not on anyone else but themselves. I fail to understand how it’s the fault of anyone else.
A simple fix to not playing with players who don’t know everything yet, is playing with friends.
The key word here is some and realistically, it’s probably “very few.” The “very few” who prefer a slower pace in dungeons tend to be the most vocal.
For those of us who prefer to go fast (the vast majority), we don’t feel the need to come to the forums to complain about slower players. We just use the tools Blizzard provides to manage the situation. If someone is slowing down the group and we’re not on the same page, we can use the Vote-Kick system or form our own fast-paced groups.
The reality is, you have the same tools available to you. If you want to play at a slower pace, you’re free to do so. You can kick players who don’t align with your style, or better yet, create your own group of like-minded players who also enjoy a more methodical approach.
But coming to the forums to complain about people not playing exactly the way you want, especially when using a convenience tool like the Random Dungeon Finder, just seems counterproductive. Blizzard gives everyone the freedom to play their way, take advantage of that instead of expecting the entire player base to conform to you. That’s a very selfish mindset.
Actually, it’s a reasonable deduction. Think about it, how often do you see people complaining on the forums about groups moving too slowly? Almost never, I’m honestly not sure I’ve ever saw one. On the other hand, posts about players going too fast are fairly common.
This suggests that the majority of players are fine with, or even prefer, a faster pace. If slow-paced players were the majority, you’d expect the opposite, a flood of posts lamenting how people won’t slow down. The absence of “they are going too slow” complaints speaks volumes.
I’m not complaining about anything. People are free to express their thoughts, I actually encourage it. It gives me something to do while I’m bored waiting in a PvP queue.
I’m simply responding to a comment with my own perspective (which just happens to be correct). Disagreeing with you doesn’t automatically mean I’m “complaining.”
Who said people “hate the grind” just because they prefer to go fast? You’re putting words in people’s mouths. I love running dungeons, and I also love going fast while doing it. The two aren’t mutually exclusive.
Now that’s something I can complain about! The wait times for everything in Wow are way to looonnnggggg. That goes for PVP, as well as dungeons. Even Tanks and healers are having longer wait times now than ever. That has to be fixed!
OMG have you not read the forum posts over the last few years? A great multitude of the masses hate the zoom zoomers.
I would say it’s a very small vocal minority. And hating zoom zoomers is not the same as people who like to go fast hating the grind or dungeons. I don’t see how you put those two thoughts together.
If the majority preferred a slower pace, you’d see more posts from fast runners complaining about how slow others are. But aside from the troll post that just went up, that’s just not happening. The lack of such complaints suggests that slow-paced players are the minority, not the majority.
Those threads have been posted in the forum over the years. That’s a fact. Here in the General Discussion Forum. Every topic under the sun you can imagine has been posted over time.
