I’ve seen player names with special characters and symbols. I’ve tried looking up how to do it so I can get away with an otherwise taken name. Anyone know how to accomplish this? Like I want to to make a character Ysé. How do I get the game to display something like that
Look up alt codes and pick one of the many pages. I normally just copy and then paste the letter with the symbol on it and then back space any extra room.

Just a heads up, alt codes can make your name difficult to type for others, and can be annoying!
Oh. I didn’t think about that. Especially if they want to add you to the friend list. I prob will tell them to use my battle net ID name
Yes, it is better to avoid using them if possible, but shift clicking your name works too.
I did not think about this when I was naming the character. The quest text doesn’t seem to have a problem with it. The game still functions niemally if you use special characters in the name right? No bugs crop up?
…which is good in group pvp in situations…

Never invite an alt code named character to any dungeon or PvP group.
ive never wanted to create one but it makes it maddening trying to whisper someone with em in it lol

I don’t mind special characters, if I need to invite them to guild, party, etc. I just use [shift+click] on their names.
My name is a pain to spell even without any alt codes, and no one has a problem with it.
Worst case is that they ask me to whisper the group leader so they can right-click, instead of just passing on the name.

I dont want this name but suckers take my true name. So i put few alt code
if noob dont know shift/click, i dont want an there group anyway. they probably low dps or dying much
In the end I would suggest adding a extra letter, it might look weird but who cares!
This isn’t an issue anymore now that we have the “request to invite” function. Quite useful.

Special characters are an indication of a lack of imagination. If I need to go out of my way to invite someone because they have a special character then I wont even bother. If your name is almost entirely special characters, then im not inviting you at all.
