No it does not invalidate anything.
This is not opinions. This is facts, from data, from guilds conducts and from reality for many players that like casual raiding, but their preferred spec is so bad they are asked to change or asked to sit for progression.
No one should have to sit or ask to change, solely based on their class or spec is terrible,
