Sparks of War Quest - How To Complete This Bugged Quest

Must be a lot of bugged PCs out there:

Spark of war quest keeps disappearing/resetting

I have picked up the sparks of war for ringing deeps twice today. First time i got it, i progressed to 70ish/100, and then it disappeared out of my quest log, and i had to go to town to get it again. I then got it again and progressed to 42/100, i then logged off and back on to test it, and it is missing again. This was on my accounts warband druid.
