I have picked up the sparks of war for ringing deeps twice today. First time i got it, i progressed to 70ish/100, and then it disappeared out of my quest log, and i had to go to town to get it again. I then got it again and progressed to 42/100, i then logged off and back on to test it, and it is missing again. This was on my accounts warband druid.
Yes happened to me multiple times as well. Submitted a bug report.
Same here.
I have the exact same issue and just made a post about it.
I thought I was going crazy. Got to 62/100, then reset. I also think I picked it up a few times on other toons, went to Ringing Deeps, did a world quest or two and didn’t see sparks, so I figured I forgot to get the quest.
I’m not into beating my head against a wall, so this quest is off my list for the week (I typically try to do it on 3-5 toons).
One other thing to add to this conversation:
On my rogue here, I specifically changed all of my quest tracking so that I was only tracking the sparks quest and an achievement. I had to untrack probably another 8 quests. But when I logged back in, all of those other quests were back up on my UI being tracked.
Right now I’m afraid that quest may be causing an error in the UI system that is not saving quest changes…
same here
…
I have having the same issue as well. this will be my third attempt;
Yep, Same for me. As soon as I log out, if the quest is incomplete it disappears and I have to pick it up again.
Hey you may be onto something here. I noticed that at least 5 of my addons on Forge needed updating. I have not tested to see if the issue of dropping the quest is tied to the addons not being updated. I will test to see if there are any differences and report back
No changes after updating addons on forge. I don’t think it’s a UI issue. The issue still persists even with addons updated. Logged in to accept the quest. Logged back out, and back in. Still dropped the quest
Thanks for checking! I’m thinking the UI issue might be on the Blizzard side, though. I’m using Blizzard quest tracking, and it is what also reset on me. My thinking is more along the lines that the structure that tracks the configuration of quests on my character is failing to get saved in Blizzard’s database. Something along the lines of them calling the routine that saves my quest status structure and having either the database refuse the update, or the code crashes so that the request doesn’t happen.
Can verify this is an issue. Happened to me like 6 times on two different characters.
Happening to me also. Not really a big deal considering the quest rewards are redundant and it’s like I’d be doing a quest for nothing. They really need to fire the guy who did these quest rewards.
There’s still an achievement for doing it for 20 weeks, so for achievement hunters it kinda matters.
Naturally, this can be worked around by completing the quest in a single session. Between world quests, dirt, rares, and supply crates, it shouldn’t take more than 30 minutes.
Two months ago I decided to return to wow after an eight year break. I’m missing a bunch of achievements, reputation and mounts. After a bunch of back and forth I was told that they would do nothing because they don’t have logs. I use to be one of those “achieve hunter/mount farmers”…
Long story short, the achievement is about as useful as the rewards the quest gives.
its been happening to me as well
Would love for this to be fixed. Completed it on an alt and went back to Dorn to turn it in and picked up the quest again… quest completely dropped and progress reset on its own.
Even the meta achievement Sparking Battle for Ruffious Bid achievement is bugged
Happened to me as well. I swear to god! This game isn’t even worth playing anymore. Every, single, time I try to play and just have a good time, whatever activity I’m interested in is either unavailable because of maintenance that never ends, or bugged, or changed without notification. Extremely frustrating!
