In case you didn’t know Sparks of War quest has been bugged for 2 weeks now. When you pick up the quest, here is a list of DOs and DON’TS. Doing a DON’T may make your quest disappear.
DOs:
It’s ok to take a flight
ONLY work on getting the sparks on this quest until you are done. I switched to normal flying as it made it easier to see them.
Check your quest log after EVERY spark you get to make sure it didn’t disappear because doing a “DON’T” makes it go byebye.
It’s ok to pick up chests, I got the flying one while doing it.
DON’Ts:
Do not queue a BG or Dungeon or anything. Accepting that phases you out and byebye.
Don’t do a quest that phases you
Do not log out
Don’t get disconnected from game, ya can’t control this one.
Also not sure about hearthing or dying, I took a flight back just in case. After doing this quest 3 times and it auto-deleted, I got careful.
The sparks quest can disappear without warning. Dug up some dirt, received 5 and then poof. No quest and progress was reset to 0/100. Haven’t noticed if blizz has even responded to any of this yet. Can’t say small indie company… one of those would do better.
It’s actually insane that this bug is still happening. Entire progress for an essential weekly quest gone, just like that. PvP is Blizzard’s redheaded stepchild.
This is not a local cache or interface issue. The quest progress is saved server side and it’s happening to me and a group of friends when one of the “don’t” events the OP mentions occurs. It’s repeatable, I lost progress twice before googling and finding it’s a common issue many players are experiencing.
Jokes aside, almost certainly yes. I have 3 different toons I jump around on and my playtimes vary from 10min to 1hr intervals. I can just about guarantee you I’ve jumped on one, picked up all my blue exclamation marks and logged off
You’re very lucky then a it seems the large majority of people are experiencing this, I’ve tried clearing folders, unclicking addon and still lose the quest logging out
You know know that I think about it maybe. The other day I was trying to do it, got to my spot, did some work and checked my logs to see how many I got. Zero, no quest. I just assumed I forgot to pick it up
