Apologies in advance if this Soul Carver bug/issue has already been addressed…
As the title says, when I select soul carver from the talent tree it will work roughly once, then goes on CD like normal, then the skill no longer lights up on my bar nor will it activate within its range. It does…literally nothing.
I have attempted to reset my entire talent tree, create a new talent build, and even imported a tree from Wowhead with no luck. Soul carver as a skill just doesn’t work for me. It acts as if I had placed a skill from the tree on my bar that I’m not spec’d in to.

I ran into this today during a mythic + i even tried going outside the dungeon and resetting all my talents and reloading the ui. not sure what happened. Sadly I had to run the repair tool to fix it.
I just earned soul carve on my demon hunter today and could not get it to work either. It just looks kinda faded like it is not really a spell i have and it does not appear in my spell book. I cannot use it. I tried relogging, respeccing several times but no luck =(
I ran into this issue myself as I was leveling a Vengeance DH. There’s something bugged with the talent in connection with Legion’s artifact weapons. Only speculation I can guess is that because Soul Carver was originally an artifact weapon talent, there’s something getting crossed up now that it’s just a regular talent while using artifact weapons.
Unfortunately the only way I was able to get around this was to equip different weapons, unlearn the talent, re-learn the talent, and then it worked perfectly.

The same issue happened with me here when I equipped my Artifact weapon. I had to equip my non-Artifact weapons, unlearn the talent, then relearn the talent to get it to work again.

I can confirm this is occurring still, equipping the Aldrachi Warblades causes soul carver to be deleted from the players spell book even after doing all troubleshooting methods.
Bug is still happening. None of the troubleshooting methods work if you want to use Soul Carver along with Aldrachi Warblades:
- Equipping Warblades will cause Soul Carver to be greyed out.
- If you unlearn then relearn Soul Carver with Warblades equipped it will appear to work - for one single time - when you attempt to use Soul Carver again it will once again be greyed out.
