Sylvanas Windrunner. Midnight will feature Quel’Thalas, so it seems quite obvious. First Anduin with the War Within, then Sylvanas on the next. How does everyone feel about that? Do you think she will have a major role or not? Will she feature in the main cinematic of the expansion announcement (again)?
I hope she never makes a return.
She is one of the worst written characters in the entire game… and there are quite a few bad written characters.
Agreed.
Sick to death of her.
She’s already overstayed her welcome as-is.
Dark Lady watch over you!
I look forward to the day she returns. She will be very much changed, more like her original personality.
Dunno she may.
Agreed. Spending an eternity in hell, where she saw fit to try to take all of us, seems a fitting end to her story. Besides, we’ll all have her transmog along with the Dark Ranger race traits soon, so I expect there will be quite a few Sylvanas knock-offs running around the game.
Sadly she didn’t start out that way. Her origin was one of the more compelling storylines from the early era.
But yeah, once they brought her to the fore they turned her into just another one dimensional mustache twirler with the stereotypical simpering henchman (who himself was an atrociously obvious fictional stand in for the real
life WoW team’s narrative lead, which is kinda gross when you really think about it).
They tried to salvage her story at the end of SL with the whole fractured soul thing, but that was too little too late.
She will of course be back, probably to die in some “noble” way for Anduin. Meh.
It’d be nice if they could hire some writers that can actually write new characters not from WC2/3.
If it’s horrible predictable writing; she’ll be the antihero to come back and save us all.
Much like Illidan in Legion.
Please tell me I am not the only person who read the title of this thread, then sang to themselves… “…Going aaannnnnnnnyywheeeeeeeeeeere”
That only made it worse. She did loads of disgusting things. Then the writers from WoW come around the corner and suddenly say, “In reality, she’s just a poor, poor victim of circumstances and has done nothing of her own free will. What a poor little angel, huh?”
Ugh.
I’m not a fan of Garrosh, but at least they didn’t try to portray him as a poor, misunderstood victim by all means.
I hope not. Shallow character seemingly only there to have a redemption arc. Not relatable whatsoever. Motivations make no sense because they’re based off surface level interpretations of esoteric concepts set in motion by some bald edgelord.
I mean. He had the whole thing where he blamed Thrall for putting him in charge. Saying Thrall should have known better, and anything that he (Garrosh) did bad was all Thralls fault.
Because he was just a victim of circumstance. And wasnt responsible for his own choices as warchief.
Good point. You’re right.
I was referring to his end during Shadowlands.
In the words of King Graymane,
(Shouting at the sky in anger)
SYLVANAS!
I still have a screenshot from when I was leveling an Undead back in BFA right before the Legion release and had a quest to turn in something and it says < Warchief > on her name when she was still in Undercity. I told trade chat and everyone flipped out knowing Vol’jin was going to die. I wonder if someone got reprimanded for that to this day. :X
Heheheh
Patch 12.X is named Midnight
slow clap
Well played
Why all the hate?
I hope we never deal with her again
Was evil the entire time but we’re supposed to feel bad and forgive her
Meanwhile every other person turned undead we’re condemned to super hell and we should hate them forever
