Sorry, unholy death knights are not necromancers get over it

Ahh yes those dragonflights were pulled out of thin air. They definitely haven’t been here since the Warcraft RTS days.

No, necromancers had a spell called Life Tap too. I remember because I killed myself with it.

Yeah they had a conversion buff that drained their own health into mana. Willing to bet you were FD afk with lich up and probably werent an Iksar because iirc they regen faster than the drain ticks.

I just kept hitting Life Tap because I thought it was funny and I wanted to know if I could kill myself.

Dragon aspects =/= evokers

And sometimes with some soft music and sacramental wine. Candlelight.

Good times.

I mean Thrall can throw a 2 handed axe (which Shaman do not use anymore) with enough force to one shot a pit lord but we’re acting like Anduin is representative of any class?

I don’t think Death Knights would be above this. Mine enjoys a nice candlelit drinking binge as well.

Necromancer should be a 4th Priest spec.

Lol no, they already have a Shadow themed spec.

Totally agree they are not

So give warlocks a glyph to change their demons to undead and there demo is now a necromancer. WoW has too many classes and specs and the downside that all specs have to be balanced amongst each other for every piece of content and Blizzard is overall not going to win on that front.

We don’t need ANOTHER pet summoning range/caster spec.

No we wont

Ok, what’s the different between, Holy paladin and holy priest, those are in the game, blizzard told you there’s a difference so recite the difference.

Okay Mage 4th spec, Necromancy. Can summon skeleton warriors, archers, and ghostly minions.

Are you trying to imply the gameplay of holy priest and holy paladin are the same?

Didn’t know warcraft was diablo. Good catch.

In-universe? One was trained in melee-to-melee combat and one wasn’t. Also the dude that was trained in it wants to wear heavier armour since they are going into melee.

Gameplay-wise? You’d have to be silly to even ask about this one.

This is why what you are saying is pointless. Unholy specialized Death Knights ARE necromancers. Just the same way that in-universe some Priests are necromancers, the same way that some Mages are necromancers, the same way that there’s technically speaking two “Paladin” necromancers as well.

You are asking for a class that gameplay wise is fulfilled by Warlocks and thematically fulfilled by Death Knights. So no, any Necromancer class as you can possibly envision it wouldn’t ever exist because we don’t play in-universe classes - we play gamified (as in “we are playing a game” rather than the other definitions of gamified) gameplay centric versions of some classes.

You are being reductionist.

So UDKs are Necromancers they just wear armor…?

Are they? They’re different because blizzard was able to show you theres a difference, so how do people not wrap their head around there would be a difference between unholy and necromancer as a whole? Is the diablo necromancer a death knight? are the necromancer enemies we fight death knights?

you’re anwsering your own question and problem. “LORE WISE THERE IS A BIG DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PRIESTS AND PALADIN AND OH MY GODDNESS THEY PLAY SO DIFFERENCE” as if all of the sudden blizzard would add necromancers and they would just literally be like death knights. So, blizzard already told you "hey we have holy priest and holy paladin and this is how they play: " but you suddenly draw the line at unholy dk and necromancer?
What if it was just unholy paladin and unholy priest, then it would be a-okay?

If the distiction was already made with paladin and priest, why all of the sudden would that not also extend to necro and DK?

The only argument against necromancers is “I can’t imagine that deeply so you can’t either”
