Just happened to me.
Happened to me in LFR, dude just stood there and I could not attack. I was able to reset by using my shadowmeld. So if you got invisibility or anything similar, this is one solution. After I started the encounter I walked out of the circle and let them come to me as suggested in this thread and it worked. So I hope this works for you.

Holy crap. How can this STILL be a problem? Come on Blizzard⊠just fix crap like this. Itâs stupid.

Yep still happening. Even before the encounter begins Hisek bugs and the encounter doesnât reset. I even took time to kill each trashmob group individually, and it still bugged. Zero clue what went wrong or how to fix it
At the absolute least make the encounter reset after a short period of time @Blizzard

Not happening anymore to me.
Did you wait for the roleplay to finish before clicking on the amber crystal? Because that will bug up the fight.
This is still not fixed.

It is still bugged. 02/2/20. i ran back out of the room and did /reload and it reset the boss fight all good. :]
