Soo... bots are back in full swing?

Bots never left “full swing”. What ever gave you the idea that they stopped, and now have re-started?

It’s called real life. Our roads have potholes. Our games have cheaters. Asking for perfection is a religious prayer. Don’t expect perfection from the humans at Blizzzard.

Blizzard made a blue post talking about what they do EVERY MONTH, not just once. They didn’t do it and stop. And what they did didn’t eliminate all botters.

This is an incredibly poor argument.

Blizzard cut their support staff SIGNIFICANTLY in recent years, and its showing in a very bad way when it comes to the population of botters and exploiters what happens when you cut corners in favor of profit margins.

GM tickets in vanilla were often answered in 10 minutes. Now? 3+ days. If you think running a skeleton crew gm staff doesnt significantly impede their ability to swiftly handle bot reports, you’re fooling yourself.

The problem is when private servers can do enough to eliminate noclip and fly hacking, and have better anti cheat software than blizzard. They are usually 1-5 dudes sitting at home in their off time. This is a multi billion dollar organization with teams of developers and yet people can still fly through the freaking floor from node to node.

100% agree on top of it why wouldn’t we want a spruced up game client when we can just go to private servers for the old one?

The difference here is exchange of $$.

Yes their noclip and hacking detection should be better. But private servers could ban anyone and everyone with 0 legal actions. With money being handled between players and Blizzard(sub fees). Blizzard has to investigate and justify their bans.

Not saying you’re wrong, a multi billion dollar company shouldn’t have any issues with bot detection that many top end games do.

Imagine bots making people Scarab Lords. I have a feeling it will reach that point if the botting is as bad as everyone says.

As long as botting is profitable there will be botting.

Blizzard’s CS approach has been ‘‘fire as many real GMs as possible, replace with automatic systems.’’ This might work if someone is screaming racial slurs in Stormwind but it doesn’t work for botting.

IF you read their ToS and agree to em, they can pretty much ban you if you sneeze in their direction. So what legal action?

They never really left.

Companies make announcements not to warn off bad actors, but to appease their customers.

It’s like a guy putting a pound of air in each tire of his car and pretending that he tuned the engine and changed the oil.

Wrong information is wrong. Blizzard reserves the right to ban anyone for any reason. You have no legal recourse.

Yea, I’m sure the increase in ticket wait times from 10 minutes to 3-5 days arent indicative of cuts in support staff at all.

Also, this is patently false information. You can view the various customer service layoffs during the most recent 2019 cuts right here on page 7: https://www.scribd.com/document/401389950/Blizzard-Entertainment-Inc-WARN?ad_group=87443X1540253Xf6b5c791c7e6540b6f465e32166e50d9&campaign=SkimbitLtd&keyword=660149026&medium=affiliate&source=hp_affiliate

i dont understand what ur arguing lol

You do realize what you linked shows zero CS layoffs, right?

uhh, might wanna give it a cursory read again - 8 gm layoffs, 2 account services, 1 community manager. page 7.

I suggest you read it again.

Ythisens ring a bell? Community manager?

Seriously bro, at least put in a little effort here.

Ythisens was not part of the CS team.

Oh, you’re one of those. Carry on, make sure to put the goalposts back in their original position when you’re done.

How am I moving the goalposts? You’re the one who didn’t comprehend the article you linked.

There are two columns, the left column is number of positions selected for termination and the right column for positions not selected for termination.

Zero CS positions are listed as selected for termination. Now, back to you; how are you going to move the goalposts here?
