Sometimes undead/mechanic pets won't res in battle

Is there some hidden mechanic that prevents undead and mechanical pets from ressing?
It happened to me once against a Flayer Youngling and once against an Emerald Boa. Can’t tell if it’s a bug or a mechanic.

This has happened to me too. Not too sure about it.

This is happening very frequently now, with no real pattern.
