Something is not right with M+

There are pretty nonsensical overlaps in damage on the one boss that has the orbs and does the beetle slam.

Yeah, I did this dungeon earlier today and the damage is definitely up there. The twins or whatever also hurt a lot.

I’ve read through most of the comments and with that information I do see where we get the difficulty is fun aspect because it is, but it shouldn’t be ungodly hard. Most of these undodgeable mechs that are going out do 50-75% of a dps health bar and healers just can’t pick up the slack. The difficulty for me is a blast however it feels that even at 608 a plus 5 is hitting way to hard and we have literally 3 options to gear. Heroic Raid, getting a delvers bounty map (% chance), or slog all the way to mythic 7 and hope that your dps pump enough damage to chew through tyrannical. This troupe of moving mythic+ to be as hard as a mythic raid is nonsensical as mythic raiding is for the 1% of the 5% of players. I just feel they have over tuned this without enough ways to acquire gear, at my item level the only thing I can do to get runed crests reasonably is the heroic raid, which I can only loot once a week. So, I am essentially stuck farming delves praying for a bounty map. It just seems like an illogical not needed change the old system had its flaws and should’ve been harder but this jump to the new one is outrageous.

If you are not sweating out of every pore in your body until you are dehydrated like a sun-dried vegetable then you are not having fun. Nothing matters in my life but bragging about my hard-to-obtain gear and elite logs on the world of warcraft!

The crystal in stonevault is mostly execution. The fight isn’t actually very scary if everyone’s doing things properly, it’s just kinda unclear what “Doing it properly” is so most aren’t and the fight becomes much harder.

Priority is crystals when they are up, one at a time, cleaving on boss. Not the other way around.

When the boss starts building his shield, everyone grab 1-2 stacks of the debuff from the black balls. Healers can honestly grab up to 3 and keep them throughout the phase as each stack icreases their healing by 50%. The dps get a damage buff that works against the shield allowing them to take it down quickly.

Doing that, the fight’s very comfy. The problem is when people focus the boss and try to cleave the crystals, causing them to fall behind, or when your healer / dps don’t pick up stacks before the shield phase meaning you die to the aoe he spams while the shield holds.

The most problems I’ve had with this boss by far is people killing several crystals at the same time on pugs. Got 3 stacks of the debuff twice the last run and only lived because I could foresee the zug zug and used strong defensives.

This is because they’re cleaving off the boss instead of focusing them. If people swap properly it’s a lot less even / messy. Sometimes you get a duo but because you’re focusing them it’s rarely an extend and those are pretty easy to handle even in higher keys.

none of those dungeons i listed were popular in their eras…and it had nothing to do with how difficult they were to time? like what the? Siege was horrible then, and it’s horrible now.

As I said, popular = easy.

or you know, the countless times that hook fails…

When each abom has like a quarter of stitchflesh’s hp it’s a lot less of a choice. You can cleave off add instead of off boss but it makes the fight take a looooong time.

I disagree. Fun is objective. What you enjoy is subjective and not exclusive to whether or not you’re having fun. I prefer difficult things and memorizing a prestige dungeon mode before I go and do those dungeons on maximum difficulty is part of the challenge.

I’ll say this about it. I’ve attempted two keys, and have come to the conclusion that I don’t care enough to vet groups for low keys.

I’m cool with just doing delves, raiding and pvp.

True it’s long relatively speaking, but still less time than Nalthor or other fights in m+ history.

Shadowmoon burial grounds, court of stars, they were easy, and their reception was not “these are amazing, and popular!”…in fact iirc I’d say Shadowmoon Burial grounds was one of the easiest remakes we’ve seen - and it was garbage.

It comes down to the gameplay, and mechanics, more than difficulty imo. But hey, if you like the slop, eat up i guess. I think blizzard can deliver better, because they have had PLENTY of W’s.

I don’t recall SMBG or COS being exactly hated because they gave out loot.

And what are those good dungeons?

I hated SMBG third boss, there was nothing going on.

where’s the objective part in that post?

In my opinion, Shadowmoon Burial Grounds is one of the top 10 worst dungeons of all time but at least it’s not as bad as Siege of Boralus on the Alliance side. Siege of Boralus is the top 3 worst dungeons ever, and Blizzard brought that back.

Meanwhile Shrine of the Storm next season… o,0

I liked Shrine! I think the aesthetics, monsters, music and story are great…but we all know they’ll add a couple knockbacks, lethal unavoidable rot damage and give the trash 3-4 more abilities! another rough heal absorb mechanic maybe??? :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

I think Shrine was disliked because it was hard (@Faux, this is an example of what you were talking about)…but it is still one of my favorites by a lot…Same with temple of sethralis.

Blizzard can totally revamp shrine to be likeable though. It was the trash that i hated there.
