This “the player needs to learn” was the biggest mistake during shadowlands and they paid for it with horrible flames in the forum.
Dragonflight was casual and it was the most fun expansion on years. Everyone was having fun and no one complained because casuals could easily get mythic vault tracks.
Now they did a complete turnaround and brought back this horrible elitist 0.1% mentality and if they continue it will be shadowlands 2.0
There is a reason that DF Season 3 had the highest retention rate in terms of mythic+ data that we have. I don’t understand on why backtrack on the way that season was? Shouldn’t more players sticking around be a good thing?
Its just scuffed, things are over tuned, the deltion of the entire mid key range, and the very poor Dungan choice is killing M+ for me and a lot of people.
Its just not fun anymore.
Becuase blizzard has this horrible habit that they cant seem to break from.
Any time blizzard makes a system that players enjoy, they have the incontrollable need to tinker with it, for no reason what so ever.
Every time, this happens, something omes out, the players love it, and all they want blizzard to do, is to give them more of it, and blizzard screws it up bad.
If they went back to season 3 DF style, this would be great. But gutting the mid key range, and altering what level gear drops is gonna kill M+ FAST.
My dude, if you are struggling with any boss on a 4, the problem is not with the boss.
The only complaint i have is merging tyrannical and fortified. It feels miserable once you get to 10s and extra bad on some keys where the trash is overtuned.
M+ is garbage rn… 614 and pugging is absolutely horrid. Everyone needs to be at the edge of their seat for this stuff. One wipe and you might as well just leave. I swear ive lost braincells watching some of these people in m+. Its jsut so stupid. You can out gear the rewards for a dungeon, but have so much difficulty completing it, for worse gear than u already have.
I think it’s apparent from the RWF, that blizzard has immensely overtuned a bunch of garbage… I expect to see some sweeping changes to these dungeons on reset or some patch notes later today. But right now, this is just tilting. Dont pug guys… You need comms to run m+ now…
Blizzard has a real problem admitting when they are wrong or made a bad design. Maybe we need another Preach wake up call, about how blizzard intentionally takes fun out of the game over some bad philosophy.
I think there just needs to be one crystal spawn phase per cycle and the crystals need more health. That would groove more with how pug communication works. It’s a little too easy to blow two up at a time, and the crystals just spawn way too often which makes the fight obnoxious.
Done higher Stonevaults and it is legit better to even let him absorb several crystals and burn through his shield than killing crystals at the same time because his aoe actually hurts less than stacked crystal bursts.
It also ends up being a quicker kill on him as the crystals love to spawn at a time where people are popping cooldowns and diverting the value of the cooldowns away from the boss to overkill the crystals is a huge waste.
These dungeons are just bad.
And incredibly toxic. In Ara Kara a demon hunter just obsessed with the DPS meter was livid at my monk when he saw my monk running in the direction of a pool to get rooted for the suck, he tried to dash to beat me to the pool, failed, and then blamed his death on me.
They really need to remove all these dungeon mechanics where players can actively screw each other for limited resources because it’s gonna lead to a ton of toxicity.
The same applies to the Sinkhole delve with the bubbles that are not shared so if one player takes it ahead of someone else it can mean someone dies from the drowning dot in the delve.
It’s so clear Blizzard is not playtesting their own content.
I’ve been a casual M+ player throughout several expansions, and I started progressing my game play in Dragonflight (getting portals). I agree that this season is not fun, especially as a resto shaman. My haste is a pathetic 15% (with buffs) when I ended last season with ~30%. There’s so much movement, and my casts are so slow. It makes me not want to heal anymore. I want to progress in M+, and I put in the time doing homework (ie. watching M+ dungeon guides, reading about the fights, etc.) – Yes, homework TO PLAY A GAME!!! I know the start of the season is always tough because people are less geared, less practiced in the dungeons, etc. Since I pug most of my M+, I can tell you that the average M+ player is struggling a lot. I want to do M+ and have fun doing it, but it has been torture this week. It has definitely not been fun. It has been frustrating, very stressful, and has literally brought me to tears. I’m trying my hardest, and yet I’m having issues timing some 5s with pugs. I certainly hope Blizzard reworks this to be a bit more casual player friendly.
If you look at how M+ has changed, it is totally fine. It has been the same every first week of M+. Only a few people are actually going to be able to do +17 or higher keys (which are now +7 keys).
Posted this in another thread but figured i would share it here. This is some food for thought about the current balancing state of Mythics at the moment.
I just got done doing a T11 delve.
Now T10 delves are recommended for ilvl 623, so We can assume that T11 delves are recommended for 623 or greater.
The final boss in the delve Kriegvals rest, was hitting me with his flame storm for 1.5m. this was with spell reflect up so 25% reduction of magic damage
His ground slam which is 4 back to back attacks was hitting me for 215k, Blacking 251k, and absorbing 215k, this was with either demo shout or shield wall.
His melee hits were hitting me for about 422k 493k blocked, 422k absorbed.
Except you are missing all of the key levels that allowed people to play at their level. It does not feel good to never progress and be stuck running the same thing.
We aren’t even a full week in. Like these kind of reactions seem crazy fast. It was pretty standard for most of the community to NOT be doing 17-20s on the first week. We just had a very long intro before the season launched where everyone min maxed and got gear that was equivalent or better than the first 6 levels of M+.
Some of these dungeons could use a bit of tuning for sure but they are far from not completable. People are 2700+ score farming 12 and 13s already.
