I just a got a note saying someone was logged into my account on another place. No one has access to this computer except me. It extremely secure as I do all my banking and stock trading on it. I received no email saying anyone was logging on from a new device. Can that be an error or do I have to change my password. No one could have gotten my password from this end. Its a fully encrypted computer ( in case of theft) and no one but me has physical access to it.
Get an Authenticator!!! Oh SMS protect helps too.
I had the same thing on night of pre-patch launch. Logged out and checked Authenticator and emails and there was nothing- but I changed the password anyway just to be safe and have not had the problem since.
I’m not seeing any foreign access, Raymath. We can’t see any security notifications you may have received, but I don’t see other access but yours.
I would agree with Rycerz, it is always a good idea to add an authenticator as an extra layer of security.
That’s what I’m thinking. I was fighting the flaming centaur with flaming tentacles so hitting a lot of buttons at once. I think its a bug. Now I have to figure out how to change the password.
The WoW client can be opened more than once, so you might have accidentally opened another window. It can’t log you in on both. Had this happen a few days ago.
Good call out, Kentaurus. I was just talking with someone about that, and they indicated that the person received a similar message so that might be the case here.
This happened to me the other day, but it was my bad. I was working and forgot I had the game open and was logged in, and went to the launcher and hit play again. It logged me out on my other session and gave me that message.
It also happens if I open battle.net on my laptop without closing it on my desktop first. Done that a few times when there is a client patch.
I changed my pass word just in case, but I know it was something like that. The computer I use is extremely secure because it major use is trading and banking. WoW is on it for a pass time because a lot of times in trading, it is boring ( like watching paint dry). It goes nowhere else and no one has physical access to it other than me. Its encrypted in case someone breaks in and steals it - they have a brick. Because of its primary use, I have 4 monitors open and sometimes my mouse pointer gets lost. I’m guessing that’s what happened and it hit something on the launcher on another monitor.
