At least for me, the talent trees address a persistent problem we have seen forever, that being integrating borrowed power going forward.
It is very jarring going from one expansion to the next and having such drastic changes every time. Im not saying that isn’t happening with Talent trees now, but I am far more hopeful about borrowed power being integrated into the trees.
Also, we haven’t been getting additional talents in years, with the talent tree I know I will (hopefully) see some progression going forward (if WoW does go forward).
That is fairly positive to me. Some of the recent changes to some specs though are in the wrong direction and hope they get solved. If the base classes aren’t good enough then nobody will be drawn in and others will leave.
agreed.
now someone just needs to get them to figure out how to stop putting the ingredients together in such a way as to make the product hated instead of loved.
Maybe a better creative team might be in order if DF flops.
Basically, for me at least, its because there’s no borrowed powers, you can enter any zone without needing to dismount (I’ve missed that!) and, with the number of things that are account wide, it’s very alt-friendly.
They need to change their whole formula up it’s pretty evident the majority of people can’t stand wow anymore . They come back and see ya again cause it’s basically just the same old thing and boredom sets in.
I will give em they changed flying but I couldn’t stand gw2 flying and quit because of it so I didn’t buy. But it’s pretty evident people can’t stand the old formula of raid, pvp, now keys.
They literally did nothing else new but flying. I find it amusing from spells to trees they have no new ideas but just keep bringing old stuff back. They ain’t even talking about bringing some new endgame out to truly excite people same old boring wq’s and I’m sure at sometime we’ll have another area with the same old just chase rares around. More people quit at the start of expacs then people ride a whole expansion out says everything.
Have you seen the number of toons levelling out there right now? It’s like Euston Statuon at rush hour! Okay, I admit I’m pushing me some Horde, but DF does seem to be hitting the spot for an awful lot of people.
Personally, I liked the announcement video and I’m interested in how the storyline goes. But no Dracthyr tank option? Yadda yadda, Blizzard explanation, but these are fluffin’ dragons and a chance to engage enemies hand-to-hand with extreme prejudice using fist-weapons would’ve been nice.
As for the ‘How to Tame Your Dragon’ flying: nope.
I mentioned sit com series here somewhere.
Some of these players keep rambling on about something ‘new’.
what is an RPG like this EVER going to do ‘new’ ? lmao.
Its an RPG. Its QUESTING…ADVENTURING in new content…FIGHTING more crap again…Running dungeons/raids…PvPing.
they act like the company is supposed to come up with something that IS WoW but ISNT WoW, lmao…something somehow never before seen in all of gaming lmao.
Some of the folks in this thread…on this forum…probably SHOULD just lay the game down, because they are clearly unable to see ANY good in ANY content at all.
Ive given BFA and SLs both a chance BEFORE I railed on them for their mindless trash systems. BFA MIGHT have been ok if Ion hadnt ruined it with the azerite crap and other garbage…but it is what it is. SLs was DOA, clearly.
But they have done something different this time.
We whine for flight from day one. Well guess the hell what…we’ll have it this time…and somehow that STILL isnt enough in here.
Ive been the most vocal basher of this game and of Ion for two expansions now and even I can give them credit for doing something different this time.
Those who cant really should just walk away from WoW because its CLEAR that NOTHING that is done wont be ‘new’ enough for this bunch.
If we cant find ANY positive in the game…then we should LEAVE.
personally with DF, I can find it. Because it AINT my LIFE. Its a VIDEO GAME.
the only new is flying thats it and a new race you need to get realistic instead of flipping out in every thread your in lol. the only people that stay somewhat happy in this game are endgamers they need someone else in control of the open world cause it ain’t got squat new. they even cut torghast like they did visions and not replacing with nothing torghast was loved all they had to do is make it like it was in beta no one was complaining about it then. there to damn focused on endgame is all that matters and thats the biggest complaint of all from so many people.
It may be a small detail in the grand scheme of things, but the landscape is beautiful - and Valdrakken (the main city) is the cherry on top. I’ve been in beta for about 2 weeks now, and I’m enjoying just exploring for the sake of exploring - something I haven’t done in WoW for at least 10 years. The art work alone makes me want to spend time playing.
I don’t do Mythic+, I do up to 0. But sympathize with everyone on this. As soon as they mentioned adjusting scaling, I winced.
I’m not planning on playing one.
I don’t really have any complaints with Warrior.
I’ve lived through this before and can again. I just hope they back it with some other ways to get geared so it doesn’t feel like such a slog.
I don’t like dragon riding. It is just gliding with extra moves. And it’s not friendly to people like me with depth perception issues. I’ll definitely be crashing everywhere.
I’m hoping they they don’t just do 8 DF dungeons and give up like they did with Shadowlands. I’m hoping it was only that way with Shadowlands because of the pandemic.
What I’m excited for is for the first time in a long time, there is no endless borrowed power system. And I’m happy that they are redoing professions. I do like the new areas and the story so far on beta.
It is odd how Blizzard has well over a dozen untouched specs from preexisting lore they could use but instead use this and the fact that the Evoker gameplay makes it impossible for the class to be any other race ever.
They changed it; they didn’t “ruin it”. You might end up doing lower tier dungeons for longer than you did before, but ultimately why does that matter? It’s not ideal, but it’s certainly not world ending - there are even some upsides.
 I don’t have input here because frankly I don’t think race has more than a tiny input into how I experience the game.
Plenty of classes are very happy. Many talents are rehashed legendaries but many of those legendaries were fun to play with. Not only that, but combinations of the powers that we haven’t had before will be fun.
Whether or not people are overjoyed about their talent trees, they are overwhelmingly better than what we’ve had since cata, universally. People over-dramatise things they see as not perfect; most of the trees are functional and just fine.
Forced group loot is functionally the same as personal loot, with an added roll in between. It’s a stupid change, but nearly meaningless functionally.
Since tuning hasn’t been done, whether or not it is poorly tuned remains to be seen. The rest is subjective.
I mean… they are “forcing” you to do this the same as engaging with any new system in any new expansion. Should they have cockblocked flying every expansion since wod? No. That doesn’t mean this isn’t going to be a fun feature. If you personally don’t like it, there isn’t much anyone else can do about that. Some do, some don’t.
Good! It’s utterly stupid that every piece of content they ever make becomes completely irrelevant the day the next patch drops. Ways of keeping old content relevant are good for the game, not bad.
I’m no shill when it comes to Blizzard, if you look in my post history I don’t have much positive to say about them, but Dragonflight so far looks to be cautiously fun. I’m ok with them taking it back a notch, not overpromising the world, and leaving space to move. No expansion-wide systems that are utterly broken from the outside that they have to spend the next 6 months shoehorning into something remotely functional while the game is live is a GOOD thing.
