Why can’t you guys balance the game properly. Feral is bottom of the barrel almost every patch. You’ve had years and years to do something but don’t. And now balance is even worse than feral in dead last competing with Aug.
Shout out to arcane mage that is also just gutter right now
The issue is not about having a flat line and presto-balance. The problem is this for example:
That is the rankings for the first week of Undermine. (just as an example. I am well aware the numbers have changed since then. Not the point here)
If you math out the data, the top spec performs ~78% more dps than the bottom dps.
The difference in DPS between the top 5 and the bottom 5 is around 50%. That means you’d have to buff 50% the bottom 5 specs across the board, to have them perform equal to the top 5 under the same circumstances. That is a huge gap to close.
If specs were 10-15% apart, that’s one thing. Heck, even 20% it’s fine. But 50% is a hilariously glaring problem.
Of course more tunings have been done since then, but I think there are still plenty of specs being given the red-haired step-child treatment, and it’s totally fair for people to be upset about it.
This is another issue too.
A spec overperforming in one type of end-game and then failing badly in the other is bad for people that play the spec.
And yet people prefer overwhelmingly balance Druid in their high keys by the numbers.
It’s almost like that chart doesn’t mean anything if you’re geared and know what you’re doing. The raid logs used will be an aggregate of the best and worst players with S1/S2 gear on.
On the contrary. If people don’t freak out, they don’t do so many tuning passes.
It’s leveling out, I agree. However, I also think it’s very fair to say that the bottom 5 (this week) still need to be brought up a bit to everyone else’s median.
And Aug Evokers is a whole other story.
I feel they are going to suffer the same fate that Monks did for years. That spec needs a full over-haul.
Check M+. Check PVP. Check play rates/stats. Literally the highest played in the entire game - and Balance has been mandatory meta for M+ since 2015.
Taking this wildly inconsistent statistic would lead you to think Rogues are the best class in the game - yet are the lowest played AND the lowest represented class in the entire game while currently ranked #39, #38, and #32 in M+ for DPS.
Are we forgetting that for an entire expansion the world #1, and #2 guilds quite literally did not bring Rogues to RWF because they were so low dps/utility with no raid buff or debuff?
Like, they literally had 0% representation.
Druid players will never be happy until Furry, Furry-But-Cat, Furry-But-Moonfire, and Tree-But-Still-Furry-Somehow are the best specs in the entire game with nothing even close.
You’re looking at the first week of mythic in the picture linked. You’ve got a very small and biased sample there, to the point where it’s not super representative.
Mythic full instance compilation logs aren’t really representative for at least a month as people gear up, and more people are able to post numbers.
