the strength of paladins and druids is that they are hybrids and can heal, unlike warriors
i didn’t think that needed to be explicitly stated but here we are
barbershop
limited transmogs
viable boomkins, paladins and shadow priests
2 additional playable races (alliance high elves based on blood elf models - start in elwynn, horde ogres based on kul’tiran models, start in orgrimmar)
new dungeon - karazhan crypts. new raid - dragon isles.
Warriors are also hybrids since they can fill 2 roles and in their DPS role are at or near the top of the pyramid. So there goes the basis of your argument.
The “hybrid tax” was always in reference to DPS potential and existed through Wrath. Any Class that had a Healing spec was never allowed to come close to a pure DPS. It never had anything to do with Tanking capabilities which is why Paladin and Druid Tanks were relevant in TBC even if their DPS specs still weren’t.
We all know why Paladins were F Tier Tanks in Vanilla and it all comes from Tigole and Furor who were very public about their disdain for hybrids in general and with Paladins in particular when they played EQ. There was no other design reason.
Seasons is an opportunity for the devs to do things that still fit the Vanilla style but address glaring issues. As long as they give players like you your Sisyphean style server resets each year so you can collect Defias Masks for the 100th time as well then why not?
many players had been asking for playable high elves and ogres since vanilla. barbershop was added because it was a good idea. blizz was constantly having to explain why they cant fix your mistakes, such as not being able to see that nose piercing and now, 20 levels later, you see it and you’re stuck with a char you otherwise enjoy, having a wart on her nostril.
My brother never wanted buffs. He hates buffs.
He said he will quit if paladins are buffed or if classes are balanced but he said we will also quit if 2006 spells are unbuffed or nerfed.
He wanted the game to work like 2006
He expects reckoning to be set at 400ms with it’s own 2006 batching using new 2021 batching
