They’re adding boss health to “make it more difficult”. That’s probably the biggest cop out excuse for a developer choice possible, isn’t it?
So casters will just oom and noncasters will remain the meta choice? They unintentionally buffing fury warriors? Lol?
Wouldn’t new mechanics make it more difficult too?
In addition, they admitted that they won’t increase drop rates? What the living f–k?
In 25 clears of BWL my guild in classic saw 1 chromagg sword and 1 chromagg xbow. After 25 BWL clears there will be 4 months left in classic SoM. Lol?
I guess outsourcing the devs to India like they outsource the customer service team was much, much cheaper. It’s showing.
Not increasing drop rates is like the worst asinine mistake they can do. With a shorten time table between raids. Can blizzard get anymore out of touch with its customers?
PS. My ret friend went through another excruciating version of vanilla with no rag eye dropping. I guess he will have to wait another 15 years to try for it again.
Couldnt agree more. For decades, developers have thought that more health = more difficult which just isnt the case. Hitting meat shields for an extra minute is not fun, it is obnoxious. You want difficulty, make them hit harder, more mechanics, more frequent mechanics, etc.
Loot needs to be doubled, no class balance and no increased loot is not going to be healthy for SoM, their funeral.
if you want loot pinatas, you know where retail is.
just because they are releasing content faster doesn’t mean we need more loot. do you think MC will shutdown once BWL comes out or something? lol
I don’t think extra loot is necessary. Its one of the things that increases the difficulty. People in classic were obsessed with the BIS lists and would often pass on stuff because it wasn’t the best. I remember many times that we had to force someone to take it because they’d rather fight over their bis than take a decent upgrade.
Think of it as a survival game where you have a scarcity of resources. You do the best you can with what you get. And maybe you never reach your full potential but the struggle and nail biting through every battle is just as fun as hulk smash.
Yeah, I get where you are coming from. But somethings RNG is a killer and people just wont see certain items. I would prefer for more rng then less. It can’t hurt.
SOM is going to be so bad that they never try another season again. It’s straight up lazy. They’re once again catering to the ‘no changers’ under the pretense of ‘some changes’. Some changes is complete garbage. They need to go all in to draw the audience back.
orrrrr they do what I said and increase the frequency of mechanics. Then you arent dealing with a meat shield, while still having to deal with mechanics. WBs being gone has already increased fight lengths by a good bit. Devs always do this, polar opposite changes. Basically you are double dipping, boss fight length increased due to less dps (WBs being gone), AND increased boss HP. They do this crap in everything they touch, omg we want to adjust it, then they go overkill.
This right here is why players are scared to let them try and make balance changes. Instead of seeing Boomkins going oom non stop and adding a small amount of MP5, they would go: +30 MP5, +20% dmg, -20% spell CD, -15% spell mana cost----and we end up with some stupid OP spec because the Devs lack brain cells and the understanding that you can always add a little more, it is much harder to take away. Just like cooking
Very simple concept, Rag will be harder to kill in phase 1 without WBs now and early gear. Instead of 2 min submerge, make it a 1 minute submerge or 1 min 30 sec. Now you for sure need to deal with 1 submerge, maybe even 2. Boss is now quite a bit harder for most players with out making it some stupid sponge of dmg
