in legion there was a blizzard mistake that let people mine over thousands of ore from basilisks on Argus, not only was there a fix but they banned the people who did it AND took away the ore.
yeah lets punish the people who decided to do bgs when pre patch finally came up because of blizzards mistake.
also, being honor capped is useless without marks, so the people who ARE honor capped arent even any further ahead of you since they have to go back and do more bgs anyway. the only piece of gear that you can buy that doesnt require marks is your pvp trinket.
I agree with you, however the path of least resistance is to just revert the honor gains and allow everyone to obtain honor cap in a reasonable amount of time. With 8 days left, the effort it would take to get information and ban folks who abused it is not worth the time. I dont see that as feasible given the circumstances. Wiping honor is a solution but that still leaves the issue of pre patch pvp being ruined or at best severly botched more than it already is. At this point even if they bring in the correct numbers from the original prepatch, the timeline doesnt add up because of the rushing for the quarterly earnings report. My personal opinion is that 10x for the remainder of prepatch is just about the only solution that allows the easiest solution for both blizzard and the player base.
being honor capped is useless you say? marks are hard you say? hmmm thats not what the dozen and dozen of AFK PREMADE, yes AFK PREMADE, told me
lol. itâs the last thing you said. what i said was a complete tangent and unrelated to you.
Anyone who calls it an exploit should ask why the beta consisted of only streamers until the announcement for launch date was already set and anyone who would have enjoyed playing on the beta was left to catch up and prepare on Classic instead. Seperately, if it was âfineâ in Alpha and beta phases and went live just long enough for a group of people to exploit that warrants a few followup questions. I also feel that blizzard is ignoring the problem away and ensuring by removal of incentive that the interest in pvp at peak is gone forever. Pretty clear when you consider I dont think they have even acknowledged people being thrown out of BGâs after they claim it was fixed but did not.
Yep, thatâs what happens when bugs go out sometimes. Punishing those who were grinding without knowing something is wrong wouldnât be right either.
These threads are useless.
It wasnât an exploit lol.
To be fair they didnât nerf the honor gains until like 7pm pacific time
Ya, but people who paid for boosted toons that had a plan to grind out that gear to get some gear before launch day got screwed hardcore. Unless you could get to 60 before the nerf. I was 59 when they nerfed it.
A friend of mine (new to classic) did his PvP grind at 58 in the low level BGâs solo Q and got heaps of honor. He said he played 6 hrs form ~35k ( decent IMO)
Not saying you didnât get the shaft tho.
If I was the guy in charge of the situation Iâd make a blue post that 2 days before the portal opens you can farm at the pre- nerf rate for 1 day, then rates go back to indented values.
This would give anyone whoâs interested the opportunity to farm and give everyone an equally opportunity.
Ya I WOULD have this if I knew a nerf was coming lol. I would have just pvpâd and then leveled. They literally destroyed honor now, and itâs hilarious (not suprising anymore, the Shadowlands/Retail crap show seems to be migrating to Classic now) that they donât address it. As far as I know AB weekend still isnât giving proper bonus honor.
it can be blizzards mistake but in the tos it specifically talks about how using an exploit is against tosâŚyou are supposed to report it to blizzard and not do itâŚyou could go exploit our judicial system in democrat states and commit crimes while you laugh your way out of jail even though you just stole a car because you exploit laws made by idiots but ya dont and those who do should be put in jail and left there
Except this wasnât an exploit. It was how people actually thought it was suppose to work. Ya, it may have been higher than original pre-patch but people assumed it was because original pre-patch was 42 days and not 13. The nerf was surprising to almost everyone. The problem is now people arenât even getting the same honor as the 42 day long pre-patch. People got full r14 gear in the original pre-patch in those 42 days. In fact in 2 weeks or less in most cases. People also had full honor/marks ready for lvl 70 from the original pre-patch too.
Precisely. People donât even seem to know the actual rates now, we have people on this forum who
A. Think honor is the bottleneck
B. Think mark is the bottleneck
C. Still think you should get 3k honor for winning an AV
There is no way that people went into bgs, realised it was bugged and farmed honor and were like hehehe this is obviously bugged and continued doing it. Considering to be a beneficiary of the bug you didnât have to perform any actions but queue for a bg its pretty insane to call it an exploitative
It was most certainly an exploit and all honor from that day should be removed.
And ruin their fun too? Thereâs only one way to make everyone happy dude; and those with that gatekeeper mentality for lvl 60 gear and a little extra honor for 70 is insanity.
Exploits are when you do something willingly lad. My brother didnât know and heâs happy with his grand marshal gear.
Edit: Itâs not easy man; you try to respect others and they pelt you with insults; even insulting my brother who got his gear.
Exploit early, exploit often
There was a a bug when Classic first came out that guilds like Apes used to get to level 60 before anyone else. Blizzard never does roll backs exploiters always prosper and the rest of us get screwed.
Itâs not an âexploitâ if the benefit came from playing the game normally.
