just wipe honor or give us higher values like wtf is wrong with people trying to gatekeep cuz they were able to play at 3 in the morning when pre patch launched
Andycloud got his 75k honor.
That’s all Kaivax and blizz care about. The rest of us could go kick rocks.
not gonna happen m8, iv got my max honor and all the tokens I need for my level 70 pvp set
Did people really get max honor first day of pre patch? If thats true then I don’t even know why I’m wasting my time honor grinding right now. Totally unfair if this happened. I’m trying to do so much TBC prep in the pre patch and the honor grind right now is just a huge annoyance for me at the moment.
There was an exploit in the first day of prepatch after launch of 10x honor. Where people were getting 3k+ a game. People farmed it out for about 8 hours if that and got full rank 14 and weapons plus even more for 70 if they kept going.
Yes, quite a few people did as the rates were x10. Then as a consolation blizzard double honor values. Essenentially 20% of original values and said battleground weekends would be double that, so 40%. Well the battleground weekend doesnt even work so were still at 20% of original value. Hence why its 40 something hours just to grind to max honor cap when others did it in 4.
Ok yea that is totally unfair. Either they should wipe that honor or revert it back so others can have the same advantage. This is literally allowing some players to have an advantage over others if that is true.
I agree but it’s not gonna happen
Using the term exploit though is pushing it. It was a mistake on blizzard’s part and it was unknown to the player base that the values were incorrect. However with that being a mistake, the only reasonable way to correct it now is to revert the honor values back to full to give others the opportunity to grind the honor cap, punishing players who had no idea it was a problem isn’t necessary when you give everyone else the same opportunity.
Also I have a hunch Blizz is delaying changes and going silent on this issue because they dont want the BG servers to absolutely die again like they did on launch, but that’s just me. I find it odd that battlegrounds were dying, some whistleblower comes out with incorrect info and gets honor values nerfed by 90%. Now info has come out proving him wrong in at least some aspects (or discrediting whatever weight his info carries) and theyre silent with minor band aid fixes that dont address the issues everyone has.
Umm… Its not exactly punishing them if you take away something they were never supposed to have in the first place and is literally giving them an advantage over other players right now. Like I said, either wipe that honor/rewards to the proper amount they should have based on the BGs they did during that time or bring the honor gain back to what it was during that time so everyone has a fair chance at this stuff. This is ridiculous that it is taking days, literally days, to grind out 1 piece of gear in a VERY short pre patch when people are also trying to level a new blood elf in time for the portal opening. This is beyond frustrating and annoying that this is happening.
They played the game as intended. Punishing fellow players for Blizzard’s mistake is so self-centered.
Proper solution is to revert the “fix” or make it more reasonable (40-60% instead of 20% before week-end event would be more reasonable. Still a grind but not a full-time job)
I’m sorry I didn’t know fairness was a bad thing.
Not sure how real life has anything to do with a video game. I’m guessing you’re one of the ones who got in on that big honor before it was changed and don’t want to lose it? In that case I can understand how you can ignore what is right for the sake of your own selfish gain.
Parenting these days - it’s all about protecting the kids. The parents are just as much of problem as the kids are. It’s just the culture. Everyone gets a medal. So the chance that a parent will tell their kids, “tough luck” not gonna happen. They’ll most likely do what the original poster did and raise a stink to the school/swim team/or whatever to get their kid a spot on the team. But anyway …
At this point 40-60% wouldnt be right either. Since blizz is taking so long with the reduced rates. We have 8 days or so left in prepatch, back to 10x to me is the only reasonable and fair answer for everyone. Even if they buffed it to 4x-6x if the bg crashing issue comes back even that may not be enough time for people to get caught up to the ones that are so far ahead. Remove that and other variables just leaving it at 10x. That way even someone who loses to premades constantly can atleast have a chance at getting it.
The only reason i even feel this way is because of the shoddy performance of blizz regarding this. Typically its kinda tough luck, but this is a long chain of events with prepatch length, server issues, honor values etc. which leads to that being the only reasonable conclusion that helps everyone except the people who already have what everyone else is trying to get, which is honor cap. Even then, the only reason people dont want others to get it is so they have an edge in Burning Crusade, otherwise what does it matter
Fair point, I agree with you. Unfortunately it’s extremely unlikely that they go this route, they don’t admit mistakes ever. Even the wording for the x2 implies that they’re doing the players a favor lol
I do believe you’re correct. They did something, can say they fixed the issue (which still isn’t correct no matter what side of the aisle you’re on) and are going to move on. This kind of action always backlashes, but keeps happening. Root problems dont get addressed timely, so they become bigger issues. Which is something we can’t do anything about and have to just keep reeing and hope they atleast acknowledge it and give us a reason as to why the inaction. Otherwise im just going to assume its a money thing by not wanting to dump extra financial resources into better bg servers (or however it works im not a dev).
If you ever needed an opportunity to prove how little you know about me then well, you just had it. I don’t believe everyone should “get a medal.” Assumption only gives you a stage to show how ignorant you are about something. The problem I and many others have about this is how much limited time we have to do so much in and how some literally had an advantage in honor gains because they chose to pvp first instead of level a BE. They weren’t intended to get that much honor. What does this have to do with trying to suggest I have a liberal attitude about something? Look when it comes to in game stuff like this I think it should be fair for everyone. That is not being soft or unreasonable about the matter. I want to earn everything I want in WoW and do just as much as everyone else has to do to get the stuff they want too. And trust me, I know very well how much parents are part of the problem with how rotten kids are turning out these days. Why you think I felt otherwise because I had an opinion about honor in a video game you didn’t like is beyond me. Or perhaps you just looked for an opportunity to chime in on something because you have nothing else better to do with your time.
They’ve literally banned people for these same actions even when it was Blizzard’s fault for the issue being there in the first place.
The EXP potion in BFA comes to mind, where the exploit was abused by a lot of people for a single day and Blizzard couldn’t even roll back characters because they didn’t know who was abusing it and who wasn’t for levels, so they just blanket banned people for a week who had even so much as tested how the bug worked.
is it unfair, yes, should they just delete honor at june 1st, probably, will they do that or anything else usefull in the next 8 days? doubtful. The reality is Blizz is going to delay responses for the next 8 days and just hope you all forget it and move on. it sucks, but that is probably what will happen
