That’s pretty average I’d say. 5 rank 14 warrior in a competent guild. But again, in 2019 classic nobody had rank 14 weapons until bwl released

I think our guild had like 9 rank 14 warriors and a rank 12 tank. Before it split off at aq ibto 2 other guilds
I totally understand throttling rank 14 gear on a fresh phase progression server, but on era where naxx has been out for over 2 years now its pretty irrelevant
The whole “it devalues the gear” “not everyone should be able to have it” arguments are nonsensical when AQ and naxx gear is almost universally better than rank 14 gear for almost every class for both pve and pvp except for a few specific cases in certain slots.
You could end up with a full set of t3 or 2.5 in 1 month of raiding, meanwhile people are crying fowl about the prospect of being able to grind out rank 14 gear in the course of 3~4 months of consistently playing battlegrounds.
The gear isn’t gamebreaking on era in anyway, its just people trying to gatekeep their AFK bank transmog set so they can feel special about mediocre gear.
Let pvpers get pvp gear, it hurts nobody on era servers but the ego of neckbears with no other accomplishments than poopsocking for a few months.
Real pvp players would welcome the idea of more geared players in bgs, its boring AF to farm prebis players with 3k hp

It doesn’t matter if Naxx gear is better than r14, it’s still worthwhile to have certain gear most people won’t be able to achieve. Sulfuras is worse than a good chunk of weapons by the time aq40/Naxx come out. We shouldn’t up the drop rate on the eye.
We already have that with plenty of things like legendary weapons, scarab mounts, zg mounts, rivendare charger, and certain bis raid pieces that are low drop rate and highly contested.
If rank 14 gear was actually better than AQ or naxx gear that argument would hold weight, but it isnt

The stats don’t matter, having the very best pvp gear available in the game restricted to a few people is good for the game even if it’s only for aesthetics. The aq mount is just an aesthetic change it isn’t better than any other epic mount. Pvp should have rare to see items, not just pve content.
But its NOT the very best pvp gear
Almost every piece of pvp gear is replaced by tier 2.5/3 and off pieces aside from like 2 set bonuses on a couple classes

That’s being ridiculously pedantic, it’s the very best gear you can get as a reward from pvp.
Which is why its ridiculous that it takes the amount of time investment it does to get when you can get better pvp gear in less than half the time raiding.
If you are a pure pvp player you have to grind way harder for gear, and its not even as good as the gear you can get in raids for pvp, and you dont even fill all your slots, you’re still gonna be missing accessories and bracers/belt ect.

It isn’t about the stats, it is about the aesthetics.
The rank 14 weapons are easily noticeable and only people that can dedicate to the grind should have them.
Or else we will see a ton of people running around with them, like we do for pve weapons, and it will devalue them.
There are easy pve alternative for every rank 14 item, all of which are better.

I see very few people in storm wind with epic pvp gear and like it that way
That’s because most ally players aren’t pvpers on era
I mean I never saw the gear in massive amounts on any classic 2019 pvp server either. It’s not nonexistent but it’s enough of a grind to get where the vast majority of people will not go for it.

What a weak rear end take, yea people do stuff for mental reasons. People wanted Baron mount in classic because it was beyond rare. No one gives a crap in retail because it’s common as grass. Fk this dumb gimmie mafia mindset. Exclusivity is a major reason why people do things or want things in every aspect of life.
