Agreed with a lot here. Ranking and competing against your faction is a stand out feature of vanilla WoW, pve and pvp not being separate gearing routes is a standout feature of vanilla WoW. It’s kinda lame to see people asking for these system to be change when there’s two other version of WoW they could play with modified systems that cater to there desires. I think a few small changes would help Classic but there’s no reason to make radical changes and throw out all the old school charm. But I have no confidence in blizzard to make changes with fidelity and respect, they will almost certainly hamfist it and ruin whatever they touch.

Exactly! Although changes to things like currency may be better for some players, I prefer the uniqueness, and just saying things like “Well the original system sucks, and I don’t like it so no one should” doesn’t give a lot of thought or caring to those who think differently or even to those who just want the game to be more “authentic” to the original.
Agreed here too, I’d be ok with some things to make it “easier” to rank or retain ranks for longer as long as those things keep the same “spirit of the game”. Sadly I just don’t trust Blizzard to go in the right direction.
I’m watching stuff like this to decide if I want to play Season of (whatever), so we’ll see.

There needs to be some gear that is out of reach for most players, that is good for an mmo. I’m not the biggest fan of raiding outside of progression, so I’m not gonna get anything past bwl on the warlock I’m gearing up, and that’s good, I don’t want to spend the time to get pve and that’s fine. R14 is the most of of reach goal, there has to be something like that, and in a game about grinding, it makes sense the hardest to attain gear is a grind

The death charger in vanilla is absurdly rare, in wotlk they made it like 1 or 2% drop rate which mean anyone can get it, which means its only as cool as the model
It no longer has the aura of rarity. I’d hope that the actual rare stuff in the game (and there really isn’t that much) is left relatively as is, because it’s good for the game

Sweep through the raids with rank 14 weapons? When was the last time you saw that happen? Oh right, never.
Classic 2019 didn’t see rank 14 weapons until BWL launched. Guilds were not “overflowing” with warriors and rogues with r14 weapons ever until mid AQ. Even on som, where the rank was available from the start didn’t have guilds spammed with rank 14 warriors. It’s simply a scenario that is not possible until phase 5/6 and that’s IF a guild had enough of a reputation to take all of the rank 14s. Apes for example didn’t have this type of roster until again, AQ40

The OCE guild that did the 5 priest had multiple r14 warriors I believe.
Making pvp epics easier to get would be huge loss for classic era.
The blues are plenty good, if you need purples to enjoy the game you can play wotlk/retail.

In the speed runs and world first like everyone in grizzly, or apes i think it was called all had R14 weapons… hahaha
I have to repeat it bc people still dont understand the point. Its crazy to me. Ill be honest, you probably hit R14 when the game was dying out and it wasnt that hard anymore. Its literally impossible to hit when the game is active to hit R14 with the life you have. Im happy for the life you have. I have the same basically, but not married and i have a daughter. In the guild i was on during classic, we had a couple R14s on incendius. They were cool dudes, but all unemployed and spent the crazy amount of time to grind that out. Of course the people who are unemployed will take offense to this, and thats fine. Im all about change as to what the seasons are about. I feel like the pvp system should be a thing to definitely take a look at and change. Not saying make it easy, or obtainable super quickly. Make it obtainable for everyone though without competing with people because they spend all day and half the night on the game afking or botting.
Dumb logic. I have all pvp blues right now on era and get steam rolled with “purples” lmao. Also im not talking about era, im talking about the new season.

Nobody ‘deserves gear’. The whole point of those epics is that so few people have the ability to get them (I am not one of them - I cannot commit the time).
Stop trying to turn era into some feel good, we are all the same, place. There are things that only no lifers can achieve and that is good. And even with near infinite time you still need to play server politics to get to rank14.

You are trying to make the rank 14 gear grindable and accessible to more players.
That is a bad idea and will only devalue the gear.
