Delves should not be group content. There are plenty of means for group content players to achieve end game rewards such as M+, raids, pvp,
Delves should be solo only, and you (Blizzard) should focus your resources on balancing the delves around solo play, making solo play more accessible to non cheese classes like tanks and paladins. And making Bran more useful in said delves.
This won’t make everyone happy, but if you want delves to survive as the feature defining content of this expansion, I feel it is necessary you do this.

They were only meant for family and friends type of thing, that’s what they mentioned iirc. Normal group content was always raids and dungeons. Problem got fixed.

Why should we have more solo-only content in the game? The wave defense mode shouldn’t even be solo only imo, sure I can do it but it’d be more fun in coop like the rest of the game.

“more solo content” you mean dailies?
Delves were meant to be a means for solo players to achieve end game gear. It was touted as such. I raid, and I do M+. So I have no issues, but solo players deserve their own thing.

I do think that maybe focusing on Delves being solo only and working out a way to implement a flex option for dungeons (like they did for raids) would have been a better approach.
Dungeons are already designed around being 5-man content and I can’t help but think that surely scaling 5-man content down is easier than trying to make content that can be soloed and then attempting to scale it up to be as challenging at 5-man.
I agree that WoW has very little in the way of progression content available to solo players, and while many in these forums will say “it’s an MMO, leave” - that’s clearly not what Blizzard wants.
Just like the players that were vocal about “who cares about WoWs story”. Well, turns out a lot of people, and Blizzard are now trying to pull them back too.
But if Delves don’t fill that niche for solo players, they will lose those subs like they always have, and I’m concerned that by not having Delves be more focused they will struggle to do that.
I think WoW is a broadly well-designed game with a world I’ve grown to love over the years and I want it to do well.

Or cap them for 2 players. For example, I mostly play with one friend for an hour or two in the evenings.
What bemused me is the large groups going into delves, since they were supposed to be a pillar for folks who didn’t have the numbers for things like dungeons. Why are five people going into a delve at all?
Making them solo only would mean people who regularly play with one or two people would not be able to do them at all, which I think defeats the point of them.

How about give more followers.
I kind of agree with the OP. As far as I’m aware, delves were supposed to be single player challenging endgame content. Having the best way be to group up just makes them a different flavor of m+ but with a flex option. We already have raids and m+. Let the solo players have some challenging content too.
Having said that, this is still week 1 of the first season. I expect some tuning. I just wish they’d add a “healer” and “tank” solo option like they did back in Torghast where the mobs were tuned differently depending on your role picked.

Would this not be fixed by being able to run dungeons with anything from 2-5 players?
Flex raids did 10-30, so I imagine that working out scaling for dungeons to suit 2-5 should be achievable.
Who knows, maybe after some iteration Delves will be fine, but Mage Tower had a lot of effort put into it to make it viable on every spec (with each DPS spec being assigned to a “suitable” challenge) and even that wasn’t perfect at all.
I’m just concerned that meaningful solo content isn’t something that can be done halfway, because people play every spec and so every spec needs to be able to engage in the content - that’s a lot to juggle given how each spec has its own strengths and weaknesses.
I agree, I think this needed to be a feature of them.
Which is part of the issue of approaching it as hybrid content - solo content has vastly different needs.
But Delves are challenging content for solo players.
Where’s the
?
lol okay, okay, you got me
Yet they were advertised as both solo and group content back in BLizzcon 2023
Introducing Delves
Delves are quick adventures for one to five players as a solo experience, with friends, or even as a dungeon group. These adventures are integrated into the outdoor realm as a new endgame pillar alongside dungeons, raids, and PvP. Designed to provide variety, flexibility, and replayability, there are 12 Delves available at launch that take place throughout Khaz Algar in a variety of environments.
They were meant as an option for solo players to have gear progreesion but were never meant to only be for solo players.

Still trolling delve posts a day later? Take a break man FFS
I haven’t been to sleep yet lol
Many noobs need to be educated
Just no. There is a vast imbalance to this idea unless they offer Delve power ups like we got in Toroghast. And as someone pointed out, toroghast had its own balancing issues.
This does not refute my point that delves should be solo content. I don’t see the point in linking what blizzard said. It’s obviously group and solo content, I have done it.
I am making that point, and never said Blizzard strictly made it solo. I am saying they should.
1000% agree with OP, really disappointed they have essentially just made these into dungeons that require groups to progress. As someone who mostly enjoys solo play other than some LFR I was really excited by these. First few tiers they seemed right for solo play. Now dang near impossible in higher tiers. Trash seems ok, challenging but doable, bosses are insanely over tuned in most

The powerups you are referring to is found in the form of a competent Bran.
And what imbalance? Delves are not mandatory, torghast was and gave little in rewards. Delves are the only option for competitive gear for solo players should they want it. So why not focus on balancing it for single player?

Nah, this is an MMO.
Running 2 man delves might be my favorite part of the day.

Except there is no delve issue. People asked for tuning and Blizz responded. Working as intended and also working quite well, I might add.
