Solution to the bad rng of Arfus, HH, dragon skins

Just like the Tyrael’s Charger after I wasn’t lucky enough to get it from the crappy Diablo event. Put it in the trading post. People who got lucky keep their tender. People who want an item have the option to buy it.

Or even better and what should be the default modus operandi for all content in general…add it to a vendor costing the currency obtained from doing the actual content and let people still luck out and get it by change with a hardmode scaling odds system. Left of bell curves have worse odds but can still get lucky whereas those who perform at the higher levels have better odds and/or acquire it faster.

Literally. Why can’t you spend say… 1k candies? I would sit there and go to every single candy bucket node and as well as the dungeon on hardmode daily.

After this long, it doesn’t make sense.

The Diablo event was a single time limited event. Headless Horseman is an annual event. If you don’t get whatever you wanted this year, you’ll have a chance to get it again next year.

As for, “just sell it for candies:” Blizzard wants people to keep replaying the dungeon. It raises their engagement metric, and it provides players to group with for the event itself. I mean, do you keep running the holiday dungeons after you’ve won all the bit wanted? I certainly don’t.

Holiday items don’t belong in The Trading Post.

The BLP should be high priced holiday vendor option if it doesn’t drop from the boss.

Blizzard doesn’t care what you do ultimately since their main tracking metric is if you are logging in during tracking periods and even if they did somewhat care, it’s still trivial to calculate the expected average and even maximum FOMO currency available to the player and set a percentage cost otherwise requiring a very significant time investment to obtain.

So for this event, if say 1000 candies was the realistic maximum one could expect to get if engaging everyday plus the 1 time sources, Blizzard could easily price it at 600 - 750 guaranteeing plenty of time sunk investment.

FOMO is just a cheap tactic altogether though. If they really valued and respected players, their could be a holiday vendor selling all the holiday stuff for holiday currency and to incentivize players have the items for a given holiday discounted during that period and still allowing for luck based acquisitions during that respective holiday period along with niche holiday-specific perks like how the broom mounts are instant cast during this holiday.

Exactly, I saw a post mentioning the candies even being made BoA if you wanted to really stretch it out for “engagement”. Its an easy solution, you add the items to a vendor, you let people play the game and progress towards said items. If you want something interesting, then why not have a transmog set drop the following year, why not add new items the year after that, you will still have engagement, you will still have people running the dungeon to gather more candies and to have a chance at a low instant drop.

It just confuses me that we have somethings change, with the addition of the curses and a new horseman fight, but then other things just remain so archaic.

So how do you price it?

Too low, and the forums will get threads about how people have grinded it for x many years across y characters every day, every year, finally got it, and now you’re giving it away for free?? This is disrespectful of the time I’ve put in to get this.

Too high, and you’ll get people saying that it changes nothing, it’s still just there as an unfun grind that they’re still going to do anyways, and how it’s disrespectful of player’s time to make them grind that much.

I’d rather grind candy to buy it then grind the boss 30x - 40x times per day from day 18 to day 31 and crossing my fingers and hoping I get it. :crossed_fingers:

I feel Blizzard needs to apologize for lying to us that curses work when they don’t. I’m not noticing any drop rate increases with curses on.

Least they can do is put Arfus and the HH horse up once on the Trading Post least for one month as a apology. Those that have the pet and horse don’t need to buy. But those that missed out can purchase. Cause they could have added a way to purchase this pet off the vendor with the candy. I’d would rather find it more enjoyable to go to inn buckets to collect candy then do a repetitive grind on a alt army hoping the dice rolls in my favor.

And the HH horse should also be up for sale with candy too its been 18 years it is about time it should be on sale with candy too.

Why? You were able to use/have it while most people did not. Basically early access. Such a poor look to want to gatekeep other people because you’re afraid it diminishes your own accomplishments.

You know someone is going to argue this if something goes from being a long grind to being free.

You mean from a total insane RNG casino fest to a grind currency to buy it means it’s now free?

Yes. If something goes from difficult to get to free, the people who got it when it was difficult are liable to complain, these are wow players we are talking about after all.

I really wish people would quit saying this. No one is guaranteed next year. NO ONE. We could all be DEAD next year. Let us have that little bit of enjoyment now for a reasonable price. RNG for something that happens once a YEAR is just wrong. Especially for a pet. Even for the mount.

I was playing with a good friend one day… the next day he was dead. Quit saying “next year.”

Your gut feeling isn’t an actual indicator of the drop rates.

They should apologize for not putting in exactly what you wanted? Oooookkkkk.

Yup. Love this too.

Even some like “bad luck” currency that will drop instead of say… Invincible. If you farm enough you can buy it.

Engagement metric? Isn’t that why the trading post exists?

Jesus Christ, stop needing everything. Never seen so many spoiled man babies in my life.

By that logic you shouldn’t even be wasting time on wow since you could die tonight.
