Solution for Premade Queue System

  • Change Ashran from 35v35 to 40v40 to put it back in line with the other epics. (Otherwise there would be problems with point 2.)

  • Allow for up to 10-man premades in random battlegrounds, and up to 40-man premades in epic BGs, similar to how Korrak’s Revenge works. This would get rid of a lot of the “drop queue” problems if premades leave queue to sync.

  • TO COMPENSATE, double the rewards for solo queuers. If someone queues solo, they will earn double honor, double conquest, and you know what, give them a small amount of conquest (ie, “5”) for each loss they don’t afk out of. (Therefore solo queuers arent screwed over.)

  • Adjust the queue system so that it will first PRIORITIZE premade vs premade before it allows premade vs pug. (Premade vs pug would still happen if only one premade is queuing, but it would at least check first (otherwise queues would last forever lol).)

  • Dropping queue would give a small deserter buff, similar to arena skirms.

Alternatively, add rated epics, so communities like SoD can do epics as a group in peace without bullying the random pugs on the other teams.

With how small that community is, the wintrading there would triple what 70s rbg wintrading in cata were

Cross faction ques also!

Agreed with all of it. But no cross faction queues. You guys got cooties.

You do now after I teabagged you

It shouldn’t be a priority. It should be a strict requirement. A 40-person premade should only go against a 40-person premade.

If there’s only one 40-person premade queuing in all of NA, maybe that’s a hint how unpopular it is.

Matching a 40-person premade against pugs is madness. It’s a free win for the premade raid and a miserable experience for all the pugs rotating through that game.

Nope, haven’t been t bagged tonight.

The problem is, alright, what if you have 38 people queuing up? Who are the last 2 people?

Solo queuers should be further incentivized so that it’s not a miserable experience.

Blizz could add more unique cosmetic rewards that are ONLY obtainable through rated epics (like how glad mounts are for 3s, and keep it cosmetic so it’s not “required”), to entice others to the content and flood the queue ladder, making it harder to win trade.

You found 38 people but can’t find 2 more?

Split into two 19-person premades then.

It’s random epics, not rated I was talking about, it doesn’t have to be so formal lol

If 38 folks want to queue for some epics, saying they HAVE to find 2 more members to fill their team is ridiculous lol

Cool with most of what you said but I’m particularly interested in this part:

In the case of epics in particular, we would have to define what constitutes a premade as far as matchmaking priority is concerned.

You said that we should allow raid vs. raid, which I agree with. But at what point is a 40 vs. 40 considered a “premade”? Do we stop at 10, or 20 or etc.

“2.”

Lol, but really, I guess it would “first” try to match the “largest” groups together, and then gradually fill in the spaces with smaller and smaller premades if it can’t find 2 40-mans.

Like if there’s a 38-man premade, it would first try to fill the 2 spaces with a 2-man premade, before moving on to solo queuers.

Idk, I’m thinking too much into this lol

They were actually going to make rated versions of IoC and AV in Cata when they were developing RBGs and even at a reduced player count (I think it would have been 25v25?) they couldn’t find any reasonable way to make it work. How it would work now, with the population of the game far smaller and the population that enjoys epic BGs even smaller than that, I dunno. I don’t see that ever happening.

I took your body and then had fun with the skull

Lies. I release before any of that can happen.

Yeah you are damn fast to release lol, I just can’t believe you were in between 4 other horde and they walked off on you lol

I sort of like it except no rated epic BGs. Adding the rated element would ruin the fun of eBGs.

[edit]
Not a huge fan of full premades allowed. What if we left it 5-mans for regulars and 20-mans for epic BGs. You could always sync queue two 20-mans. 20 pugs is enough to make or break an eBG.

Rated epics? Great now Ruin/Ruinous and co can realize that coordinating 40 man team with TC in comms against 40 randomly thrown together group doesn’t make you special.

I wouldn’t mind allowing players to queue in a raid group, but only if the following stipulation was added:

  • People queueing in a raid group, no matter the size of the raid group, are put into their own separate queues away from those queueing solo or in a party of 5.

If you’re queueing in a 40 man raid group, that’s fine. You don’t have to wait until another 40 man raid group queues to get a pop. No, it would pull from others also queueing in a raid, no matter the size, until it can match your 40. (so if there are 4 raid groups of 10 people queueing, it’ll take them and put them up against you)

It shouldn’t prioritize, it should be a requirement with the above adjustment. (so that you wouldn’t be stuck in a queue until another 40 man queues)

Should already be a thing. Have no idea why it’s not. It should also get worse for each consecutive queue drop.

On top of all of this, it should be cross faction queue. This would allow you to also pull from both factions instead of just one.
