Solution for end game progression going into MoP

Flex Raiding

As it stands in Cata Classic, the progression system is a series of Heroic Dungeons much like having Mythic + to get you ready for raiding.

This system was flawed in so many ways.

It is a very daunting task for a number of reasons. The time it takes just to do the progression is much longer than it had been prior. On top of that, how does it make sense to get raid gear from doing dungeons? Shouldn’t you have to do raids in order to get raid gear?

I know for me doing Heroic dungeons through Cata classic has been BRUTAL. For a number of reasons. A too large amount of people playing Cata classic forgot that you actually have to do mechanics in order to get through dungeons. A too large amount of the player base for WoW has been too used to not even having to think to get through a dungeon and so now that they have to do mechanics, they don’t even know what to do so the second things get hard, they just dip.

The current system just doesn’t make much sense as far as a progression system goes.

Classic is supposed to be Classic, right?

Yes, we got Flex Raiding for I believe patch 5.4 in MoP? Why not use this same concept for the progression system for MoP rather than having to retune all dungeons and difficulties just to try and make it fit? This way we could have some form of LFR that we had in the past but we’d fill it up ourselves. Flex Raiding should drop lower ilevel gear than regular raiding, but it could be something to help see mechanics as well as gear up for the real raiding.

As far as I see it, everyone wins in this scenario.

Whether Flex Raiding works like it did in MoP or if you just have a cap of 10 or something just to fill a group and go, I feel like this would be a far better fix than anything that was used in Cata.

not going to happen, you will get flex when it came originally.

they tried to alter LFR in cata and broke it.

The janitor looking after the progression servers is not up to the task.

It’s funny you say that cause it should take far less effort to create a Flex like raiding system than it was for the dungeon changes for Cata.

the heroic + system is superior to LFR in every possible way, and has quite honestly been one of the best changes to classic

LFR is a joke, always was and will be a joke.

fingers crossed it stays out of the game for good

you think having to create a new difficulty for 2 raid tiers that scale with players is easy?

you can see how much work went into the cata dungeons when they release scuffed af and need to be tuned after its live

I’m not advocating for LFR to come back…

I understand that there just aren’t even enough people to consistently fill those anyway.

My solution is for there to be an actual raiding system so we can get raid gear rather than having to do painful heroics over and over and over again to get gear from a raid where we could actually RAID to get that gear from.

And besides. Gotta get the Legendary Cloak items from somewhere, don’t we?

why cant u just join a guild and do normals?

/facepalm

The point is to get into normals but there has to be a progression system in order to get you gear so you CAN DO NORMALS.

i swear these newer players just want everything instantly and for no effort

just uhh… do what we did before LFR was a thing? do your heroic 5 mans, grind some reps, buy a couple of valor pieces and do the normal raids?

they arent that hard dude

Something which I have asked is to make raiding better at catchup which is the goal of h+ has been to add the h+ currency to raid and buff the amount of raid drops like they did with naxx and t7 when Ulduar was released. This made it so doing the old raid was still very efficient to gear up vs h+.

But I personally wouldnt agree that dungeons are too hard but for sure when a bunch of people get free boosts that let them skip most of the gearing part which could help them learn its different, personally Im really not a fan to give max level boosts.

I see where you’re coming from but flex raiding simply does not exist in T14 and T15. They would have to “invent” a new difficulty and flexible mechanic on those tiers, which is not going to happen neither do I trust them do do it.

We have a simply solution: Looking. For. Raid. I have no idea why they still refuse to implement it.
