Solo Shuffle Ruined PvP

I tried all of shadowlands to play 3’s on my warrior was impossible. Was my first time doing endgame and nobody wants to que with a warrior with no rating even tho ive been playing warrior accidentlly for 10 years in swtor literally the same class. Solo shuffle let me actually play the game. Every pvp game has a yolo mode.

I like solo shuffle. Arena always seemed so elitist. Players even made cute elitist names for various comps. Forget all that noise. Now one click and I’m earning rating and conquest.

SoloQ was something necessary, looking for partners for 2v2 or 3v3 is not fun, if there are not many players willing to play 2v2 and 3v3 it is because they think exactly the same and see no incentive to go to those queues if they can get the same in SoloQ, the solution to this is not to remove rewards from SoloQ or nerf the mmr so that SoloQ has no more CR than 3v3, causing matchmaking in SoloQ to be a complete disaster, but to add more rewards to 2v2 and 3v3 so that players feel the need to look for companions to go to those queues, because posts like this are killing PvP in general, since they are focusing their hatred against the wrong target.

It really is lol. It’s really only worth playing if you have the trifecta of:

  1. friends you know (not just people you added to real id) who also play/enjoy wow arena + are willing to schedule sessions to push rating.

  2. your friends happen to play classes/specs that compliment yours enough to reach your desired goal.

  3. your friends are all of roughly the same skill level.

If you don’t have the above, good luck pugging, especially if you are trying to learn. In my experience, most that do participate in lfg pugging are only in it for as long as you are climbing. One or two losses, regardless of fault, and the group is done for.

Whether it can be helped or not idk, and of course there are rare exceptions, but people that have reached a certain skill level (or that think they are much better than they are) are quick to dish out toxicity to those at a lower skill level/rating, and that’s because in most cases, the lower skill player doesn’t provide any value to the higher skill level player(s), and this causes the higher skill player to become frustrated.

To defend wow a little though, I think pretty much every competitive pvp game is toxic, mainly the team based ones where you have other people to blame when things go south, but I think that has more to do with online anonymity than the game itself.

I don’t blame higher level players for not wanting to play with those of lower skill, especially if they have particular goals in mind that they won’t be able to reach with those players [e.g., the higher skilled player has put in the time/work toward improving, and it’s not their job to teach every noob they come across how to play at their level, or carry them].

Similarly, I don’t mind higher skilled players not wanting to play with me, for similar reasons, but I think it’s more common to have a disconnect where once the skill differential is apparent, there is no nice parting of ways/mutual understanding. It’s usually a swift leave/ignore/toxic comment/etc. that precedes the disband.

Solo queue for the other brackets would do wonders for participation imo. Right now there is no matchmaking involved when making a team (link x achievement to find partners is a meme at best), so there is a minimal chance that players pugging find partners of equal skill and mindset in a reasonable amount of time (not to mention people not being able to play when their spec isn’t meta).

Solo queue has been amazing for me (personally). It’s also why I thoroughly enjoy other pvp games (overwatch being my number 1 other than wow), and the only reason I even play retail at all (I would still be subbed regardless because I’m a classic andy  ).

You can try to discredit this and just call it being anti-social all you want, but in the grand scheme of things, I think it’s quite normal to not want to deal with tons of toxic people, especially when there is nothing of real value to be gained from doing so.

Ngl i love RSS both healing and dps. I still do enjoy 3s too.

:100: :100: :100:

the comp names were the best. so were old arena team names

gone but not forgotten

Or they just ghost you or are suddenly too busy to queue with you.

And then you have to accept the hard truth that they care more about the ilevel of their weekly PvP chest than playing with you.
