Solo Shuffle gonna expose some peeps

I’m a perma hardstuck 1400 pleb so I’m used to such mockery, but I can’t wait for the gatekeeping when you start to see “Shadowlands glad LF 3v3 NO BADS” with a 1600 solo shuffle rating.

Curious for the more informed individuals that played around with Shuffle on beta/pre-release. How did the ratings tend to match up? Is SSR or Solo Shuffle Rating gonna be how we prove relevance to potential partners now?

I was discussing this with a buddy and he agreed, I felt taking a current solo shuffle player at 2k+ is much more reliable than a dude that links you glad from a decade back.

Can’t speak for beta but solo shuffle in pre patch cr/mmr was a total meme. Of course pre patch balance was a factor, but hoping Blizz has done some work on the algorithm.

I think we kind of need to wait and see how it all plays out before prescribing a judgment that solo shuffle rating is some kind of pure measurement of skill. Certain classes that require less coordination will have an easier time in shuffle.

Totally agree. Like that lifetime challenger enhance from Reddit that got 2400 in shuffle and made a 1 shot guide will be a much better partner than the WoD % gladiator. Should be fun.

I would assume this is more a factor of the incredibly tiny sample size of players even going on Beta compared to the representation we’ll see on retail.

i think that shuffle having no barrier to entry + 6 rounds per q sat means it’ll be dramatically more inflated than we’re used to seeing real 3v3

something like 2700 in shuffle could match up to more like 2200 in 3v3 just because of how many more games are being played, how many people are playing, and how quick the dampening makes the games

If DF solo shuffle cr/mmr is anything like the pre-patch was, then I’d say no you can’t relate that to traditional arena numbers. I was 2150ish in shuffle and Im here to tell you I ain’t no duelist caliber player I’m trash.

Hard telling how it’ll compare vs a 3’s rating. Biggest thing is they rate the “R1” off spec but I don’t know if the rating itself is? If not, all ratings won’t seem equal because not all classes are as conducive to a solo shuffle playstyle. So unless you’ve memorized all specs and their ladders, even in the same bracket 2.4k could mean very different things.

That said I agree that decade+ old glads are not always still good. In fact a lot of them are bad. But they also likely haven’t played much. There are some old glads that stuck around and “evolved” and are still just as good in the current iteration.

Hard to judge honestly. Do I think solo will “expose people?” I mean, maybe the weird people who flex things they shouldn’t. But good players will succeed regardless I think.

Generally players who did this are also current glad + since new glad is so much easier to get nowadays.

I’ve only been 1600 on my monk, prepatch I won 6 full games and it put me at 1720

When you’re playing solo the most important thing to remember is

First off, hot take, your solo shuffle rating doesn’t reflect your 3v3 rating.

This is on the same logic level as people who tell me “your main is 2600 but your alt is 1400 get bent”. I didn’t realize that switching from one caster to another caster suddenly made completely incapable of playing the game. 1400 with like ~15 games played and a 97% win rate, but I’m dogwater and shouldn’t be allowed to play in the hardstuck Duelist “Glad Push” group?

By that same logic, let’s say I’m 2400 in 3’s with 100+ games, but I’m 1600 in solo shuffle with like 50 games played. Are you going to ignore me if I link you Glad from a previous season?

I’ve played with people who are multi-Hero RBG players, but their expertise literally encompasses TWD / Turbo / KFC run down the healer and PvE for 3v3s.

These are arbitrary numbers. I see it all the time in keys, cool dude you’re 3k io but you don’t even know what the frontal mechanic is on the first boss of the most farmed dungeon in the entire expansion.

Arbitrary numbers don’t define player skill, they never will. If you’re looking to form a 3v3 group, look at their 3v3 rating and 3v3 achievements. You don’t consider raiderio score and RBG rating when forming up, solo shuffle is no different.

Honestly, I believe this will be based on the class you ask the question to. If you ask a fury, I’m guessing they would be more inclined to want to include RSS in their resume, but a fire mage probably won’t want it to be included.

Omg can u condense that into 1 maybe 2 lines please
