I was bored this morning and put together a table showing the # of players above 1800 broken down by spec and rating. This is only for Solo Shuffle and numbers may have changed some in the past few hours.
Havoc DH has the highest representation with > 1000 players above 1800. Fire Mage has the lowest with only 10 players above 1800.
Obviously very unbalanced, but I think this format will be very helpful long term to see which classes really need PvP tuning help. It’s hard to argue with #s.
Interesting scrape. Can you also pull games played/won? I’d be curious to see what specs roughly reach 1800 fastest.

I love what this illustrates though. Seeing S.Priest pull so far ahead above 2100. Shadow and Demo are way too self contained. Amazing damage with high defensives and lots of CC. Honestly Surprised how high WW monks are. Their damage is broken, but I’d think there would be more hard counters. If I had to guess, I bet the lack of paladins overall has let WW really excel.
The rest is unsurprising. Fury is broke. Way, way, way too much healing still for the amount of damage they have. They just have too much right now. Too much uptime for the amount of survivability.
you cannot make much of any serious decisions based off of RSS.
in solo shuffle everyone kinda does whatever, you cannot possibly assume that in shuffle theres anywhere near the kind of comms or coordination that you find in, oh, a proper 3s team.
…dumbasses.
so, all the data from RSS simply shows what we already konw, which is that specs like spriest and havoc and so on which can do at least one of these two things
stay pretty mobile
keep themselves up with some kind of sustain
…will do well.
and its like yeah, no shyte, geniuses =P /sighhhhhh
That’s your take away? You think s.priest is mobile? You think they can keep themselves up?
Both wrong. It’s about how self contained each spec is. Shadow has two major defensive CDs, high damage, and lots of instant and unbreakable CC. They don’t rely on their team to setup damage or CC. Unlike mages or even hunters.
Same goes for DH and fury. They have very high damage, good instant CC, and solid short CD defensives.
Anyone with a brain knew there was going to be a disparity in rep based off the differences of each spec. Some specs don’t need much communication, others do. This only goes to highlight that. If they start to balance around this type of content, it will only make arena worse.
read it again. i said at least one of the two. jesus christ.
forum’s abilty to focus or otherwise stay on point is absolute trash status.
further, i dont necessarily disagree with most of what you said, but what you said doesnt change what i said. we cannot balance stuff based on SS. RSS is basically a rating applied to world pvp. thats about how its actually played and you know it. whens the last time you had proper on point coms and suitable strats, swaps that made sense and so on?
dont bs yourself, youre already trying too hard to bs us =D
not that this is necessarily the end of hte world. RSS is what it is, and nothing more or less. its fine. it has a place in the game, it serves a purpose.
One thing to note is that I only included the top 1000 players or those above 1800 for each spec. There may be another hundred Havoc DH’s at 1800 but I couldn’t see any more.
Mages are an outlier when looking at this. It’s one of the lowest represented classes, but 7 of the best were still able to reach Elite rating.
I’ll do this again at the end of Week 2 and see if anything changed after the new patch.
